IPhone vs. Samsung

I liked the IPhone when I had it but the storage inflexibility was my big deciding factor. My work requires me to open things like floorplans or large drawings sometimes and when you have to decide what gets erased it gets annoying after a week.

I can see how that is an issue, but I never buy the lowest storage because 1) in terms of NAND technology, it will be a slower in speed (read/write) and 2) needed space for updates. Apple is banking that users see how little they charge for icloud which may persuade them.

Glad you enjoy your phone and the android exp.

I was hoping that would be the case and not like my wife he got it and did not like it so she switched back.

People should like what they get and when they switch sometimes whether from apple to andorid or the reverse...they are taking a chance that it might not work out for them.

So it is nice when it does.

Congrats.

The wife and I are due for an upgrade. I think I will go with the S8+....it seems to be about the same size as my Note 4 and the new note coming out soon looks to be a little bigger. I don't think I would want a phone any bigger than my note 4 is.

She is waiting for the new Apple phones to come out so we will probably get them at the same time and maybe by that time the new Note will be out and the S8+ will be a little cheaper.

Was an iPhone guy up until 2 years ago and I will NEVER go back. I have the S8+ now and love it. If you're a 'tweaker' like myself and if you hate all of the bloatware that these companies install on your phone, than I'd suggest rooting it and taking the power back! I rooted my S7 Edge and opened the door to so many new programs/customizations with not one file w/ 'Verizon' in the file name. Unfortunately, root is not out 'yet' for the S8+ but I'm hearing it will be shortly. BP, if I were you, I'd wait until the Note 8 is out in a week. It's slightly larger than the S8+ but smaller than your Note 4. I've read where people are saying that the Note 8 is supposed to be a better all around phone than the S8+. If that's the case, you'll be extremely happy. The S8+ is, bar far, the best cell that I've ever owned.

FINE PRINT - THE STATEMENT ABOVE IS MY OPINION AND ONLY MY OPINION. I'M SURE THAT YOUR PHONE IS PERFECT FOR YOU. SO NOW THAT I'VE SAID THAT, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BASHING ME OVER MY 'OPINION'. LOL

Storage is like ones house the bigger the space more you are willing to accumulate. While I can appreciate that apple offers bigger capacity but it is at a premium. the price of a current iphone 7+ with 256GB is almost $1000 and you are stuck with 256GB. While my unlocked S8+ cost me $800 with 64GB on board, I have 256GB Samsung microSD that I bought off massdrop for 129.99. NAND performance is not that bad but in area with bad cell service and no wifi it is faster. lets not forget if NAND makes another jump to 512GB I will have that option instead of a new phone. I appreciate the apple cloud or whatever its called but there are comparable services for free. My Onedrive cloud service is free and I get 100GB. I get that all in one integration is nice and convenient but it is not that important to me. I have email accounts on gmail, yahoo, hotmail, and few others so integration is not show stopper. Like I said in the past both makers make good phones it is all about preferences. I would own use either one and be happy. If samsung ever goes the route of Apple and drops MicroSD support I will drop them.

I'll never buy an Apple product. I have to use a MacBook Pro at work just because of certain software.

Have the s8+. Great phone. Not sure what you plan on getting but any newer android that's reputable will be great. Get the iPhone if you want to feel like you're 5 years old.

Iphone is not that bad. There are are the integration things in the iphone that I think are very nice. I like that iphones will play my itunes library, not that that matters anymore. I still rock a color screen ipod clasic.
