Yeah, sure, glad the Cowboys didn't overpay, blah blah,,, but it's annoying to watch them flounder around trying to rebuild this defense incrementally through the draft. Inch by inch, step by step, this defense is going,,, no where!! We might need to start thinking about Dak's "window".

We lost some defensive players, big deal, none were studs, many of these players were on the field that allowed GB to get out to a 21-3 lead, after being given time to heal, plus the bye week...and the defense looked like garbage against Rogers, let them go...

we are letting other teams overpay players we should be replacing with better talent.

that's a good thing.

we are also *not* overpaying for other teams' players.

that's a good thing, too.

it's hard to watch everyone else getting shiny new toys, but this is the smart way to build a roster.

the only loss that makes Dallas worse is Leary. Church has no identifiable skill set, Jack Crawford was marginal. McClain was productive but often injured. I think it pushed up the need to draft another OL (maybe 3rd or 4th round). Draft is loaded at DE & DB so Dallas picked right time to reload those positions. I still think Dallas needs to add DE FA.

Gilmore hurts. He is exactly what the Cowboys needed.

i am actually starting to believe that the FO have secret conceded 2017 and perhaps 2018 to the patriots.
they may be waiting for Brady to retire.

After seeing what they were able to do with recent compensatory picks recently, it's a little more reassuring they will land some young exceptional talent in the future with the picks they receive.

Yeah, thank God we're losing all these players. 14th overall and #1 against the run was horrendous, surely we can only go up from here. These "glad to see him go" because he's not a pro bowler attitudes blow my mind.I really hope I'm wrong but I don't think some of these players are nearly as easily replaceable as some of ya'll think.

You still have to replace these players, and whos to say they will be better? And if you think this team has not totally fed up the salary cap then I have no clue what your looking at.

And replace them how? This is talent aquisition business, you don't let the little talent you have walk out without having a better replacement. I could give a rat's behind about comp picks. I don't want to tank this year in hopes of comp picks. You can't waste these years when Dak is on his rookie contract. Not do you replace marginal talent with less talent and expect to be better.

I find it funny how some always say the cap means nothing and we can do anything we want, but then say we have to save our cap space for later years.

Let me guess, we'll fill all our needs on defense in the draft!

If the offense did their job it wouldnt have been 21-3 but yes the defense needs help in a big way.

The starters leaving were starters for a reason. If they were so easy for the Cowboys to replace, they wouldn't have been starters.

Happy? Let's see who we get to replace them. The notion that "anyone else would be better than that guy" is often proven incorrect. Time will tell.

Through the draft, essentially that's how our offense was built, the difference appears to be that no one in the front office or our coach's are very good a evaluating defensive talent...and they need to quit swinging and missing on 2nd round defensive players.

Did anyone expect us to get off to a fast start in the GB game, I didn't, I knew we had problems with slow starts all season, maybe to be expected starting a rookie RB and QB, so I felt all along the defense was going to need to keep it close in the first half, but they didn't...and this is also the same defense that gave up a 3rd and 20 with time running out...sorry this defense is garbage, Is there really an untouchable on this defense, maybe Lee, that's it for me...

"you can't fix this defense in one off season," has been the mantra for the past 3-4 years..... How long is this new defense going to take to be in place? Do you expect that everyone of the draft picks will come in and be starters from day one?

Like I said I could care less about comp picks, we came close last year and with some improved signing, it doesn't have to be top of the line, could get us there this coming year. Too many get caught up in "doing it the right way," getting the cap in order," "not kicking the can down the road." When you get close, you have to take the next step to get there.

I don't mind any of the FA loses on defense individually but there are so many and more coming that its bound to have cumulative effect on the team. The coming season will have a new batch of guys trying to gel and become a team. My expectations on D are now very low and they were already pretty low before FA started.
