Is anyone else happy about our free agent losses?

I think anytime you lose a half dozen starters/heavy rotation players you need to be concerned with your depth.

Wether or not these guys were probowl players isnt in question, but several of them were good enough to start on other teams. Which means they were not scrubs but actual contributors which will need to be replaced. My larger concern is not who we lost but who they will be replaced with. As of now our current depth in the defensive backfield is paper thin.

Just a reminder for some of you that didn't get to see how many people wanted our secondary gone and are now complaining about it.

The problem is they didn't upgrade what they lost.

McClain replaced with Paea. downgrade
Church replaced with Heath downgrade. Either start Woods or draft a sure tackler. This defense misses Church a lot more than you realize.
Claiborne replaced with Brown downgrade
Free replaced with Collins downgrade so far. They need a real RT and move La'il back to G.
Leary replaced with flavor of the week. downgrade
Whitehead replaced with Switzer downgrade

They just got plain soft at DT. Irving should be a situational pass rusher at DT, not an every down guy. He just rushes the passer on every play.

Its funny how alot of people weren't concerned at all, calling our lost players scrubs. Im sure I had post supporting our decisions and having faith in the front office too. They had me convinced we turned the corner. But sadly that isnt the case. Of course I dont support over paying guys but instead of one or two quality players we sign a whole bunch of garbage for the same price. So sick of how cute we are, thinking we are always the smartest guys in the room. Our draft picks may end up being darn good players, but thats no excuse to get rid of All our veteran leadership.

No disrespect intended but of course that's the problem which is why I was concerned. I have little to no faith in our FO making good roster choices, especially when it comes to depth. Add to that letting an entire group of veterans from one area of any group and try to replace them with rookies and second year guys and it's no surprise.

I didn't like the decision but I wanted to think it couldn't get much worse.
