Is Ceedee Lamb overrated?

Lamb is legit.

I’m not sure why anyone is questioning this.

I will say the one thing that I’ve been surprised not to see is the YAC factor as much as a pro. Lamb was an absolute YAC monster at OU. That said, it may have been partly due to the infamously bad Big 12 defenses he was facing.

Big 12 Defenses are horrible and Lamb is rail thin. He still needs to grow into an NFL body before his running ability is of any use to him. He gained a little weight this offseason.. He still needs another 10-15 pounds to get there..

I feel like he just isn't as good as Dez, and Dez isn't a HOFer. I know we didn't have a lot of better options at 17 except Diggs himself and we got Diggs anyway in the second round. But I think it could have been an overdraft considering Noah Brown and Cedrick Wilson have performed just as well in this offense when given their opportunities on a per snap basis. Lamb drops passes, doesn't make tough contested and spectacular catches. He only catches when he's open. He's not Dez even though the Cowboys painfully obviously try to scheme him to get as many chances as he can.

I'd like to see Dez in the RoH.

no he was not. according to who? Dez's career was always going to be short. he wasn't a technician, or a great route runner. he wasn't a speed guy neither. he was physical and as a result injuries were bound to happen.....he had two good seasons where he was top 10 in recieving. the rest he was not even close...and in those two years he wasn't even top 5...

but I am not surprised Cowboys fans putting him in HOF. he is a cowboy and he walked through those doors drinking the koolaid that made hims super.

Dez wasn't elite. He had a couple very good season and was a freak on 50/50 balls, but he wasn't the best of the best in his era. It was mostly the space between his ears that limited him.

He led the NFL in TDs one season and that's the only statistic he ever led.
Out of 10 seasons he played 3 in their entirety.
He was very good for a 3 year window, I'll give him that.

Lamb also put up big numbers on SEC teams LSU and Alabama. His skill sets did not just show up in Big 12 games he produced vs other teams outside of the Big 12

Dez was great with contested catches but not good at route running or separation, he needed a QB that was super-accurate or didn't mind throwing up 50/50 balls. CeeDee is a much better match for Dak and in my opinion.

Yes, you're missing a lot. 2014. That was his best season statistically and was a 1st team All Pro. One season. Two other very good years. Other than that he was mediocre at best and was far from a TD machine. Witten almost caught him.

all pro = elite. there's no way around it. and he has the most receiving tds in cowboys history and 41 over 3 years in which he avg'd 1300 yards and 13 tds. that stretch was absolutely unequivocally elite. all good though. you're welcome to your opinion.

If he was elite, surely we'll see him in the HoF soon. I liked Dez, loved his passion, but his lack of good route running and lack of interest on improving that aspect meant he was completely dependant on sheer physical speed and power. Once there was an issue with speed and power, his talent dropped out.

that's silly. obviously he's not going to make the hall. his prime was too small, and his career cut short. there are plenty of elite players that will not make the hall.

2012, 2013, 2014 he was elite, and the 2nd best WR in the NFL after Calvin Johnson.

Then in the first quarter in week one in 2015 he broke his foot, and the rest was history.

He's a better player than Dez ever was. CeeDee is an infinitely better route runner and has better ability to catch the ball in traffic.

Their YAC abilities are similar. Dez was a jump ball beast but once he lost his athleticism, he didn't have anything left.

Why was his career cut short? He eventually healed. Then he tried to get back in the league and nobody wanted him. An elite player would have been signed by someone, if only on a one year deal.

Lol, yes. As was stated, you can combine his 3 good seasons and average them. Now do the other 7 years.
His average drops off to 750 yards per season and just over 7 TDs.
When you cherry pick 3 out of 10 seasons, that's a narrative.
