Cooper Rush and Dak Prescott are almost the same age, just seven months apart. Cooper has been a Dallas Cowboy since the 2017 season. This is his sixth season.
Why has it taken the Cowboys so long to discover they had this "gem"?
Cooper Rush has been developed by the Cowboys coaches to be a serviceable backup so long as he is backed up by a team committed to stepping up and making up the difference in abilities between him and Dak. That's what happened.
The team and their coaches responded to the call. This is where the credit belongs and this should be something fans need to be excited about because it means the entire team has turned a corner. This is not a team of a half dozen great players surrounded by warm bodies. This team is talented and that is what needs to be recognized and celebrated.
Yes, Cooper, a part of this team, responded as well. However, if you think he could take over a game with his passing, escape a strong pass rush with his physical abilities, or dive into an endzone by turning into a RB after he leaves the line of scrimmage, then I will need visual proof of that belief.
Let's enjoy the wins and hope for the continuing success of our entire team, including Cooper Rush, instead of turning two victories into a ridiculous quarterback controversy.
