Is Dak’s accuracy related to too much muscle?

There were articles every year on Dak working on his accuracy and mechanics in the off-season, meaning even he realizes it’s been an issue.

A lot of it is slow at processing the field, meaning late deliveries. If he knows where he is going on his early reads, he generally throws accurately. He’s basically an early read, system QB. He often muscles with his arm and upper body too, which definitely plays a part. He has an awkward body style and slow wind-up. When he delivers a ‘perfect pass’, it’s not like the elite passers like Herbert and Mahomes that can fire it from their HIPS with little effort.

This is one of his better throws from 2019 and it’s still a slow wind up and release:

This is an older GIF, 2019, but you’ve seen this exact type of moving forward instead of setting feet which leads to his behind Amari throw:

Anybody that compares Dak with Aikman, it’s not even worthy discussing QB play with them. It’s a complete insult to Aikman. Dak wouldn’t last a day in the 90s. Like Aikman said, if defenses covered Michael Irvin like they did Lamb on Sunday, he would have had 10 catches by half-time.

And just to point out in relation to other ELITE QBs, Aikman was asked to be a QB that moved the chains on difficult throws while the RG completely wore down a defense. Nobody threw a more accurate and well-timed pass that kept the chains moving better than him. It completely killed the will of a defense.

Read his scouting report this is nothing new

Seriously… I mean how many times has this fact been stated.

Dak has peaked. He’s essentially ‘perfected’ the skills as an NFL QB he was already good at it. He’s still mediocre at the things that he was mediocre at, meaning his biggest weaknesses are just what they are. It’s these qualities that always rear it’s ugly hear for not just a game here and there, but for his every year “multi-game” slump.

Fear is a big part of his inaccuracy.

He is hyper aware of the d-back chasing down those crossing patterns, which draws his focus to the d-back and the ball goes to the spot your focused on. Dak throws it right at the moving receiver while also focused on the trailing d-back, which results in those behind the receiver throws. He doesn't fully commit to and focus on simply putting the ball where it needs to go. Once you decide to throw you have to pretty much block everything out but the spot you want to put the ball.

Then there is the issue of being able to calculate quickly and under pressure exactly where that spot is

This does not explain why on short passes he's often throwing behind the receiver.
Have you watched any other quarterback. Like Aaron Rodgers. Talk about throwing behind your receivers

"Heaving it up for grabs"

Where do you see a defender even close to where he threw it?

You guys are all so jaded you can't even acknowledge one of the best throws of the year. pathetic.
I acknowledge dak made some excellent elite throws this year. That wasnt one of them .

It was an oh ship get rid of the ball that receiver made a play.

"You guys". Stop with that idiot nonsense.

He reminds me of mcnabb. Maybe he could pass from more angles with less weight. I also think cooper needs to drop 10 pounds.
It has nothing to do with muscle and everything to do with talent. The TEN TOE SLOTH isn't talented enough to get to the next level, he's extremely slow reading defenses and finding open RECs & TEs. He's so slow that DCs aren't even covering them anymore, they're all loading the box with as many defense players that the law will allow, which all but eliminates the running game. The SLOTH has pretty much destroyed this team's ability to get pass a 1st rd playoff game for the next the next 3-4 yrs, the GOOD TEAMS will continue to load the box while at the same time the SLOTH will continue to stand in the pocket squeezing the air out of the ball with his BIG MUSCLES while waiting to get sacked because the O-Line can't protect him for minutes at a time.

i remember Irvin talking about Aikman’s accuracy saying that if he ran the route blindfolded and out up his hands he was confident the ball would hit his hands, that’s how accurately and with anticipation Aikman threw it. And they’re comparing him to a guy who can barely hit the broadside of a barn LOL

he doesn't have the natural, fluid arm motion of many other qbs. Doesn't mean he has a weak arm, but he doesn't have that "flick" in his game, when he throws it hard he has to put his whole body into it
