Now there wasn't anyone. Dez, Witten and Zeke.......i thought Dak stepped into the best spot ever for a QBI didn’t trash Cooper. The trade saved our season and possibly Daks career.
The bigger point is without elite talent surrounding Dak he plummeted.
Dak elevated Beasley’s production but not his talent level. Mainly because there wasn’t anyone else.
Since when is your definition the only one? If everyone is being honest, my definition is the most accurate for this team. Dak isn't a gunslinger like Romo, or a surgeon like Brees and Rodgers. He play's with heart and guts almost willing his team to win at times. He may depending on the weapons around him more than most QBs but that's the bus and there is nothing wrong with that. Winning with teamwork is still winning.
Yeah I think Dilfer was worse than a bus driver. I think he was a below average qb.
rusty won a superbowl and went to another and his headcoach screwed up with the play call.....
You’re certainly entitled to your opinion. But I don’t believe most see Dak as elevating the play of those around him rather needing those around him to elevate his play. Now there wasn't anyone. Dez, Witten and Zeke.......i thought Dak stepped into the best spot ever for a QB
You can deny all you want but Dak has made players better.
outside of New England that defy all kinds of odds of success but then again they have Brady and Bilicheck.....the window of opportunity for any team is but a couple of years before FA, retirement and everything else catches up with them. there is no denying that despite all the player losses and lack of talent, Rusty (lol) has kept that team competitive.True that and they haven't been the same team since
How do you define "bus driver". I think most would say it's a player who rarely ever carries the team with his arm and relies more on safe passes and a running game to gain yardage and score points.
However, if one followed that by saying that defines Troy Aikman, they likely would backpedal. The reality is, Troy never had a 20 TD season, and he averaged less than 200 yards per game over his career (199.6).
So, that leaves the question of whether there are assets aside from passing stats that can elevate a player above "bus driver" status.
With Aikman, most would point to his leadership, and his demand for excellence and precision and hard work and dedication. He was the man in control and that directed the offense on the field. Dak seems to have some of that, but I can't say it's enough to put him in the same category with Aikman. Dak does put up better passing stats though, and has a better QB rating.
So where does that leave us? For me, I would say Dak is more than a bus driver. What I don't yet know is how far he can take us given the current team, including coaching and players.

but good ones like Wilson can get over the hump and go to a couple of superbowls...Matt Ryan got his team to the superbowl. we are competitive. we have a lot of the pieces. we just have to get over the hump. And that's good enough right, being competitive? I doubt many would agree that being competitive is enough. Hence the "Dak is a bus driver" debate. Are we competitive, damn straight! Do we enjoy it, hell no!
You're conveniently leaving out the reason this team hasn't been able to go further in the post season. Defense. The only elite player on a consistent basis on offense is Elliott. Thanks
TE definitely wasn’t Elite. Agreed. But once we acquired Cooper our WR uplifted our offense and Dak enough to be considered Elite. And while our OL dropped off from it’s All World status from 2016 we still had 2 Pro Bowlers last year.
Even when we had arguably the greater supporting cast in 2016, the end results in playoffs weren’t any better. What would our offense be without league leading rusher and a WR1. We’ve already seen. I’m not sure why I need to ask. And why Id continue to ask. How much Elite talent will it take around him to take the next step? Or is this as good as it gets?
Did you see his SB game in Denver? He was par at best. Manning was hot garbage. He was carried. He wasn't even a bus driver, he was a passenger.Yea that was one of the dumbest posts ive ever read on this board. Thats saying a lot when there are a ton of people on here that think Dak is a top 8 QB.
Not suprising tho coming from that poster
I’m not sure how you can leave out our 2 Pro Bowlers on OL even if they aren’t at All World level of 2016. And our defense was top 10 last year. Our weakest link was passing offense ranked 22nd with a 14th ranked QB.You're conveniently leaving out the reason this team hasn't been able to go further in the post season. Defense. The only elite player on a consistent basis on offense is Elliott.
Brady looked like garbage in SB last year until the game was on the line then he illustrated why he’s the most clutch QB in NFL history.Did you see his SB game in Denver? He was par at best. Manning was hot garbage. He was carried. He wasn't even a bus driver, he was a passenger.
