Is Dak a Top 10 QB?

Yeah, I know........ when the Cowboys won for the last 10 years it was because of Romo; whenever they lost it suddenly becomes a team game blah, blah, blah.

He has the most 4th quarter comebacks in the history of the NFL, blah, blah, blah (Ssshh - Just don't look at the opposing teams W-L records for the year those comeback victories occurred because you might look at those victories in a new light!) I don't like Aikman as an announcer with his over the top anti-homerism but he said it best; You had to get behind to have so many 4th quarter comebacks so you probably didn't play very well early on in the game.

But Romo was a very good QB especially considering where he came from. For me; I've moved on. It is amazing how some here continue to keep his name on the leaderboard when he no longer even plays for the team. I can understand occasional mentions but let's be real. There have even been threads started about Dak with the sole intention of introducing Romo's accomplishments to then drool over. But this place is called Romo Zone in other parts for a reason.

I just make sure I totally understand you post. Is it a knock to Romo? Just want to make sure.

If you are asking this question then you completely missed the point of my original post. I was using the offensive play calling pre-2014 as an example of misuse of our personnel's strength's. It was pointed out that passing differential is a significant contributor to success and I agree with that if you are running a pass-heavy offense like most teams run these days. However, Dallas is an outlier to that style offense and in order to be successful, they need a more balanced offense primarily due to the OLs strengths and a weak defense.

Anyway, Romo was part of that offense so his name was included. The rest of my comments were in response to the "over the top" sensitivity people have to any comment about Romo. He is no longer our QB; let the past go. The haters are not going to convince the lovers and the lovers are not going to convince the haters so it is really a waste of time and energy.

Is Dak a top 10 QB? I don't think he's quite earned that yet, but I would place him just outside of the top 10, certainly in the top half of starting QBs. Want to see how he does with a different OL makeup and possibly no Zeke for the first few games of the season.

Statistically he was one of the best Rookie QBs ever. I think someone already posted his plaque in Canton talking about is rookie year.

However now we need to see if he can be better, just as good, about as good or nowhere close. In other words...too early to tell right now. Let's give the kid some more time in the league.

I will say this though...unless you were a hater before and right after we drafted him and hate the idea of changing your mind about him so you just are digging in deeper with the hate....it's hard Not to be impressed with what he did for being a Rookie even with the help around him. He exceeded my expectations by a huge margin his rookie year. I am hoping he will get better over all even if does not duplicate the same win streak, no int streak (for # of passes), and QB ratio.

He might improve by getting more TDs even though he might take a few more chances here and there that might cause a few more turnovers. He might win a few more games in the post season even if he does not duplicate the win streak in the regular season.

There can be some trade offs that in one way might diminish compared to his magic rookie season but also could be better in other areas.

What he does for me is gives me the hope that no matter what we have a chance to win with him in the game. He gives me the hope that we got lucky and got a franchise QB without going through another period like we did when Aikman retired.

Not even close, he's got a long way to go... it was one freaking year, let's see how he does this year.

Don't you have to go off of the information you have?

Based off of 1 year, as of now, he's gotta be a top 10 QB.

Having watched a lot of Dak in the SEC is what gives me pause on anointing him; the player we saw on the field last fall doesn't jive with what a lot of us saw out of him at Miss St. where he was really good but flawed. Sure, guys develop and improve but that was really drastic and in a period of a few months.

And the QB who is Going to lead DALLAS to a Super Bowl Victory this year.

I just don't think this team is winning the SuperBowl this year. Hope im wrong, but my expectations are much lower than alot of people here. This is not a knock on Dak. I don't think this team is ready yet, nor are they good enough defensively. Not yet.

didn't the players say he was #14 in the league? there are not 13 QB's on that list, so yeah, I would say he is a top 10 QB right now (still has a WAY to go before elite)

Very few players particpate in that silly NFL.com thing. But you have a point.

In the tiny number tnat did fill out a form, he was 14. Do you think he's the 14th best player in the entire league at any position...honestly?
