Is Dak Prescott worth 25 million dollars a year?

Hey, I'm not criticizing him in any way. More power to him. I'm complimenting him.

I hope Dak has the same attitude when the time comes for him to re-up. To me, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who is motivated by money.

Brees is about the only one that has made it a point to get just about every dollar he can get. I think none of the others really pushed for all that they could get either. The only one I wonder about is Cutler- what was the GM of Chicago THINKING?

With the new deal Derek Carr just signed....he has set the new bar for QBs.

https://www.profootballrumors.com/2017/06/breaking-raiders-derek-carr-finalizing-massive-extension

Question I have is...Is Prescott worth that kind of money?

Because you know if he has anything close to a season like he did last season...He's gonna want that kind of money....And probably sit out until he gets it.

IMO a deal like that....would be worse than the Tony Romo deal...And look at that debacle. A team on an up swing...and we can't do nothing in free agency to get us over the top...and let key people walk in free agency...because we just didn't have the money.

Comments?
Honestly, perhaps this is a pipe dream and I have no handle on the type of person Dak is, but I don't think his motivations are driven by how much money he gets to play this game he loves. I suspect (and once again I could be wrong) he will be more like Dirk of the Mavericks and attempt to establish a deal that pays him well but also affords the team to continue to add pieces around him that he can win with. Again, maybe I'm completely wrong about him, but I think Dak cares more about winning than anything else. I doubt he would want a contract that would contradict that purpose..

Dak will likely sign early for less. But of course he will get paid quite well. In the mean time he is the NFLs best value.

Hell Carr wasn't worthy of the contract he signed

Exactly....but everyone here wants to sign Prescott to that ridiculous sum. Dumb Millennials....

you are worth what you can get.

Though that does not mean that the payscale for QB is nuts.

I wish in the next CBA every team could select one player each year that would NOT be subject to the Salary cap.

I don't get that impression @ all....I think the guy is all about himself...and getting paid. If the tats don't tell the story....Who in their right mind get a tat of his name in big bold letters? Talk about arrogant...conceited.

People are in for a rude awakening when he doesn't give a home team discount...And people can't figure out why???

Luck pushed pretty hard to get the deal he did.

And I'm not seeing Cousins giving the Commanders any kind of a home town discount.

Anyway, this is a subject for another year

I'd think about it if he brings a championship or 2 to Dallas :)

People that pretend the market should not determine worth but instead their biased opinion are amusing. Young top 10 QB are the most valuable commodity in the NFL.

Prescott will not be able to sign an extension until after the 2018 season. If he simply maintains his level of play of 68%/3700 yards/23TD/4INT for the next two seasons then he will be worth top dollar.

More likely he will improve. I expect he will break 4000 yards this year while maintaining his other stats.

If the going rate was 50m a year, you pay that. Whenever he gets a new contract he'll likely be the highest paid player

Thankfully, we have plenty of time left to evaluate because he went beast mode in his rookie year......

But...

Lordy, I will be so happy when KM is no longer on the team, and Floaty vanishes like Keyser Soze.

If somebody is willing to pay them then they're worth it.
Somebody is getting the money
Players get a percentage of revenue so it's going to somebody and qb is the hardest position to fill so they will keep getting huge money
I'm sure the owners would rather just stick in their pockets but doesn't work that way
Supply and demand

Yeah forgot about Luck. You might be right about him. But then again the way the Colts have been failing to build a good O line he might be thinking he needs to get as much as he can while he can still walk and talk...

Cousins- the way the Skins have been yanking his chain I see no chance of him not going for ever buck he can get.
