Is Dak the only super greedy QB in Cowboys history?

I'm arguing against the opinion "Josh Allen was runner up". I'm not arguing Dak was MVP or none of this other irrelevent stuff. Dak had a solid season in 2023 is the point. Some would argue it was better than Lamar's.

Plus Johs Allen's one vote for MVP was a joke by someone who wanted to promote his system for calculating MVP.
Just for personal clarification sake, are you stating the information I provided in the post you replied to is 'irrelevant'?

Actually... it depended upon circumstances of any particular year. :) Take the AP MVP voting for 2008 (link):

The AP has demonstrated it will consider a diverse group of MVP candidates in the past. Looking at that batch of names makes me curious how the voting would have broken down using the current points system.

Manning would have still blown out the rest of the pack with his 32 first-place votes. That alone would have netted him 320 points, before up to 18 more AP representatives cast their second, third, fourth or fifth place votes. Hypothetically, the most he could have accumulated was 410 points IF the remaining 18 AP reps have cast their votes for him on their second-place ballot.

That example puts MVP's award wins in perspective, whether it is the current or past ones. Manning's hypothetical 410 points would still be 83 points shy of Jackson's for 2023.
Thats wild to look at . 371 completions 4000 yards 27 TDs and 12 INTs is basically what Aaron Rogers did this year. 2008 it gets you an MVP award, in 2024 it gets you 5 wins and the washed label lol

Not the information the whole "Dak wasn't a runner up" argument that keeps polarizing people and confusing them. Dak had a MVP caliber season last year. Lamar won MVP. Josh Allen didn't. Josh Allen wasn't "runner up"....one guy was defiant and decided to throw a first place vote his way because of his "measuring system" and analytics. Josh Allen, Dak, Lamar, Purdy, CMac all were candidates. Lamar won it when he beat the 49ers.

I think all this MVP stuff is nothing but a participation sort of event. It means absolutely nothing in the scheme of things.
Well, that would mean all voted upon individual and group accolades, throughout sports, should be devalued as participation awards using that perspective.

No argument with you on most of that, but Dak received several votes, just no first place votes. If I'm reading it right 30% of voters had him on their ballots.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/awards/awards_2023.htm#voting_apmvp
Bold> No. The current system allows each player to win a maximum of 500 points if they netted all 50 AP votes for first-place (50 votes X 10 points each = 500). In the breakdown you posted, Lamar Jackson received 493 points for 49 first-place and 1 third-place ballot votes. 493 / 500 = 98.60%.

Dak Prescott received 152 points for his 2nd through 5th place ballot points. 152 / 500 = 30.40%

Actually, 47 of fifty total AP reps voted for him. That's 94% of all voters and quite significant. It is not on par with Jackson's 100% of AP voters (50 of 50) but still unquestionably notable of how they weighed Prescott's performance in 2023 regular season.

Dak did not even play the whole season in 2024. I don't know about you, but the most valuable player should play the whole season, not a few games then call it quits after getting his hammy in a bind.

Stop it! You are digging at one of my pet peeves.

I am the literal type, so it bugs my OCD when most people (it is most people) refer to a previous day, week, month, year, etc., as last--WHEN it is actually NOT the last day, week, month, year, etc.

I am always trying to be a good DE and not being anal about those little things that practically no one cares about but me.

OK, Dak did not play the whole previous season. Does that make better sense. I care about your OCD.

Screw it! Ok, Dak is an MVP. I hope that helps. smh
Thanks but nope. Technically, the 2024 season ended for 18 teams the weekend of the January 5. 24 total teams by January 13. 28 total teams by January 19. 30 total teams by January 26. So, for me, the only teams (and fans), who can call 2023 as 'last season', are Kansas City and Philadelphia.

Yep. I got it baaaaaaaaad.

Ok, not I'm getting OCD. So, to keep it simple in my mind, what season did Dak win the MVP? The rabbit hole master won't answer the question. WHAT SEASON DID DAK WIN THE MVP! (i just had to shout it out).

Don't respond, SteveTheCowboy, you will be taken down deep into his/her rabbit hole, then get gaslighted so bad you won't be able to crawl back out.
Well....he's one of the few I can choose to see or not...

But I am WELL award of his rabbit hole powers. They aren't as strong as he thinks they are. If this were the real world, it wouldn't matter. But it's Bob's world so I promised him I'd behave. Or try try to. :)
