Is Dak the only super greedy QB in Cowboys history?

Dak lost MVP consideration after he was exposed against BUF and MIA after beating up on the Giants, Washington, Carolina and the reeling Eagles for a month.

What? Why didn't Romo take some of the great rosters he been on further?

You're going to act like Romo did not play with prime Dez Bryant, prime gold jacket Jason Witten (who we are still trying to find another TE), Demarco Murray, Terrell Owens who was a beast. Heck our best roster might have been when we had Witten, Terrel Owens, Roy Williams

Or what about 2014 when we had Demarco Murray rush for over 1800 yards, prime Dez who had 16 TDs that year, Gold Jacket Witten, Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams, and a the great wall of China in front of him. We should have went far that year.
Or 2012 Where we had Dez with over 1300 yards and 12 TD's, Miles Austin who had almost 1000 yards receiving, Jason Witten with over 1000 yards receiving. And didn't even make the playoffs.

We should just be lucky we went from Romo to Dak because before Romo and Dak we had some TRASH QB's: From 2001 - 2005 we had these QB's: Drew Bledsoe, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson, Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Anthony Wright, Ryan Leaf. I hope we don't hit that rough patch again anytime soon lol
Why do Romo-diminishers always seem to ignore context? The only "great" teams Romo had were in 2007 and 2014 (but only on offense). Defensively they were mid. Even in 2007, the team started to decline in December because TO was injured (he was also at the tail end of his career) and the defense was down to its 4th corner playing starter. That's why come playoff time they were not at full strength while the Giants were peeking on defense, especially on the line, which they rode all the way through three straight road victories to winning the SB beating the undefeated Patriots and holding that offensive powerhouse to only 14 points. On the 2014 team he was in the MVP conversation all year, had the highest QB rating in the playoffs, and everyone knows about the Murray fumble and the Dez catch overturn in Green Bay. People say even if the latter stood there was plenty of time left (a little under three minutes) that no one had confidence the defense would stop Aaron Rogers anyway, which points to the notion that they weren't really great on defense that year.

The best defense Romo had was the 2009 team when they were ranked top 5. Unfortunately, by that time the offensive line had disintegrated with the likes of Kyle Kosier on the line because Jerry Jones effectively said "We don't need an offensive line, we have Romo". That's why the team was blown out in Minnesota during the Divisional game because the line simply could not block anyone. Romo was sacked six times and hurried like three times that amount.

The only future HOFamer that Tony played with for a long time is Witten. You people talk like Romo had these awesomely talented, well-coached teams -- he had "Carrot Top" for over 10 years as OC and HC who can't even sniff an NFL position job now -- throughout his career and it was all his fault that they didn't go further in the playoffs.

People running with that "runner up in MVP voting" is so cringe. I guess it'll do as a fine replacement for anything of importance, and serve as a great highest achievement for the highest paid player in the NFL.
I also find it funny because people forget that in that year, multiple top QBs went down with season ending injuries and regular candidates like Mahomes had "down" years. It was a horrible year for QB play and I remember them saying "well we need to give the award to somebody" Dak wasn't a world beater that year by ANY MEANS, it was just a nomination by default kinda like 2 of his pro owl appearances lol Dak went because no one else accepted.

They idiotically decided to put Colombo back in when Doug Free was having an awesome year. Colombo was destroyed in that game.

He had to, he was on a rookie contract. Dak is greedy and not worth the money he makes.
The minute I had Dak figured out was when ,as a rookie, he was out here trying to sell bowties and then cologne lol it has always been about the money with this guy it should have been obvious! What other rookie QB is out here selling cologne and bowties while playing in the league?

:hammer: Good post, well said

Fans forget Dak was a 4-year starter on a 4th round rookie deal. I believe Romo started his 3rd year in the league and Jerry gave him a new contract in the 4th year.
Yeah but was Romo out there trying to sell bowties and cheap cologne his rookie deal? And keep in mind, Dak already was on tv doing commercials by this point. It was clear from the start, Dak is only out here trying to maximize his earnings, his focus was never on winning just like Jerry they hope they ein but it's not the main objective, it's to make as much money as they can.

What a bunch of baloney.

Dak built a football turf field in his backyard, while Romo built a basketball court.

Dak practices football 24/7, 365 days a year. Romo was busy golfing during the offseason and going Hollywood, concerts and Cabo during the season.

Dak didn't appear in a commercial until after his rookie year. Romo was in his first commercial in 2006 after he got the starting role, plus he has appeared in double the amount of commercials Dak has.

You can tell when someone is heavily biased and are just making stuff up because they say things that are literally impossible like this.

Romo was never the highest paid ever. And was 10x the QB Dak will ever be.
Still the way he got his big contract shows what kind of person he is.

I wont say he is as bad as Dak. He aint by far that kind of a human being. But he is compareable.

Garrett earns $6 million a year as a commentator for NBC. That’s what he earned to be head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. For the same pay anyone would be willing to clean public restrooms rather than work for Jerry Jones. “Carrot Top” isn’t looking for a job in the NFL.

10 times out of 10 you gonna be a first round exit too lol.

Tony Romo had a passer rating of 93.0 with 1,316 yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in 6 games in the playoffs in his career.

People are so used to bad QB play here they fight between losers and think they won the argument if they gave an exaggerated comment.

I dont know about the last part.

I think he loves the sport and would like to be a coach again.

Not every person is only about the money. You have to search them by going east real far but there are some left.

He went after he was fired from the Giants (because he was awful) and no one would hire him. He went into broadcasting because he’s good at football realpolitik. As a commentator he just has look like he knows what he’s talking about while speaking a bunch of platitudes.
