Is Dak Tradeable?

to be honest and maybe I didn't make it too clear and for that Im sorry. I said it wasn't even this thread cause it didn't think you were meaning it like the multiple responses we will get in this thread, Its about a 50% chunk maybe more of this fan base that wants to move on and its not feasible or practical. Dak isnt even top 3 of my concerns. His pocket presence annoys me at times but hes had a heck of a year

Its the defense that needs a complete overhaul. We need to replace literally everyone not names Quinnen Williams or Overshown and Eze but we are also contractually obligated to Osa and Bland. Ill be happy to see Steele hit the road and Eberfail can leave today.

Why does #59 even see the field. The second he was on the field i know a big play is going to happen and i had to laugh when he went in the wrong gap on the TD run. story of our year
OMG, correct. Great question, why does Murray even get any playing time? He's a huge liability. He's not good at tackle football and has zero instincts.

Dak's ongoing no trade clause combined with his endorsement windfall money as a Cowboy make this impossible for both the player AND the GM/Owner.

Both would lose money/profits if traded.
So, it ain't happening imo.

You just described every person who you and many others have labeled haters for the last ten years.

Come on, man.
Come on man what?
I made a statement, and it is nothing different I been saying the past few years or so.

When referring to haters, you know what it is. The fans that do hate everything. They will not say anything positive ever.
I guess they are more trolls than haters then.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if Dak is traded, or a qb from another team is signed, that qb would be way past his prime, old, injury prone and only coming to Dallas for the money.

Or a combination of any of those things.
Then the trade wouldn't be worth it. And you don't make it.

The other options would be the draft or trading for Trevor Lawrence or something like that. But you probably wouldn't trade Dak in a Lawrence deal (way too risky), and go with a Montana-Young sort of situation. I definitely wouldn't mind that.

Dak is not the problem. Let's talk about the real problems.
Dude crawl out of the delusional hole your in . Dak is a huge problem. He's taking over 1/5 of the entire cap . You want D players right ?? we cant afford them after Paying that choking albatross . So yes Dak is a HUGE problem, and if you cant see that, well I have beach front property in Nebraska for sale

Vegas would take him in a heartbeat...

Now what you you get in return?

They already have an over 30 and overpaid quarterback. Vegas would not want him. Dallas is run by the biggest ******s in the NFL. Even the Raiders organization knows better.

yesterday was not Dak's fault. BUT..... with his salary he isn't good enough to carry this team with deficiencies because of cap limitations. very few highly paid QB's are capable of this.

Denver did the right thing.
Yeah, it worked out for them, but Denver is an actual FO that cares about winning titles and were willing to cut bait on a lost cause with Russ, no matter the cap hit.

And it was a hell of a cap hit.

But, it's arguably better to just sever ties and move on from a QB situation that is a perfect example of a sunken cost fallacy. Russ’s performance made the decision easier and like I said above, Denver actually cares about winning and took it on the chin.

Dak isn’t the the dumpster fire Russ was. He just bottoms out often enough that you know we aren’t likely to win ish unless the FO starts engaging the offseason like they give a crap about anything other than maximizing profits and puts the necessary talent around him it takes for him to succeed, which we know isn't happening, nor would Jerry ever swallow that much dead money to reset the roster make-up. I know you know this. I'm just rambling.

The cap always works out if you try hard enough.
You can get yourself hemmed up if you don't roster churn properly. Being a GM in the league nowadays is a lot more intellectually challenging than it was in the past. Instead of hiring former players and NFL men, I could see the GM role evolving to where quants from MIT, Stanford, and Ivy League-level schools start getting a GM role becoming way more common. Unless the NFL changes how the cap is currently managed, a GM is going to need to expertly use void years coupled with efficient roster churning like your Houdini. That takes A LOT of talent and intelligence to consistently do well. Jerry and Fam likely couldn't do this on their best day in the prime of their lives. Problem is, they don't even try. Not one ounce of effort is put forth to manage this roster like the Eagles, Rams, etc etc etc.

I doubt Jerry does that, and Dak holds all the cards due to his NTC.

But hypothetically...
The Raiders, haunted by the ghost of Al Davis decides to trade for him on June 2nd.
Stephen realizes by trading him his trust fund goes up a few mil.
Dak realizes he can build a Louis Vuitton Mansion in Los Vegas. The signs, they now add up. LV IN LV???

2026, Dead cap for Dak Prescott for Dallas is 34mil. Saving 40mil off his 74mil cap hit.
2027, dead cap accelerates for a 54mil cap hit. Still a net "savings" of 15mil.
Basically, only 14mil truly dead, accounting for complete rollover of his 26 cap savings.

For the Raiders:
2026 cap hit: 40mil
2027: 45mil
2028: 55mil.
I almost wish he gets traded so half the posters here that hate him will leave. Reality is, he is not going anywhere as he has a no trade clause

How much better is he? He seems to be soft.
not to mentioned he'd end up on IR with this line. Steele is the biggest liability in the passing game. Guyton wasn't much better (hes a penalty machine) but he looks like wonderful compared to Thomas.

Tell me you dont understand the cap without telling me you dont understand the cap.

Right now the Cowboys could sign the top of free agency easily to big money contracts. They are choosing not to but they could easily do so.
