Might happen but he needs to be working on skills for his next career.

I don't have hate for Dez. He was an amazing talent, perhaps the most talented WR ever to play for DC. The way he handled himself off the field and even on the field at times left him vulnerable for criticism and the media is like ants to a picnic when they see a powder keg next to a fire. He had to have a 24 hour babysitter since his demons were real and I'm not blaming him for all of that but he more or less lost it in the end with his team and needed to be released. If he would have come down with the ball and held it solidly in both hands that unfortunate day in GB, I would probably be calling him, DC best WR of all time.
Appreciate the reply

Not for nothing the NFL did review the play recently said it was a catch

who hates him
I think whats frustrating people (including me) is that some fans feel a player can play well past their prime. Dez had time with Dak and the chemistry was horrible. Add to that that the injury at N.O.
There are fans tho that thinks if he comes back it will be a continuation of the years he had with Romo. Why is no team showing any kind of attention to Dez including Philly who had a need at WR and would love to see him shine against us
Hey appreciate the reply, but on this board it’s pretty evident that many fans unfortunately are quick to kick Dez while he’s down.

I hate how we have this culture of hating our stars past their prime or current stars that have been paid. Dez is arguably the best Cowboys WR of all time, I’ll always have love for him

Obviously son you never say Micheal Irvin play!

There was only 1 person on this team with attitude issues and it was Jason Witten.

Hah. I love the consistency. Not sure if you think the ranting and raving on the sidelines qualify for attitude. My point was the talent today is not worth that hassle.

I'm curious, do you really think that you would still get "that hassle"?

I thought what they said is that they wanted that kind of play to be a catch, but the rules at that time left the issue unclear and open to interpretation. That's why they changed the wording of the rule a few years ago.

I do not. I agree with you. I love the guy as a slot punish the secondary and red zone guy. I still think he can do it. But NFL coaches have lots to choose from. Salary cap. His history. I have to think that’s what is keeping him from getting a chance. Me sitting here on a beach chair in NJ would give the guy a look.

I would too, and it would not shock me one bit if McCarthy and the Cowboys do at some point either. It's obvious that Dez still loves the Cowboys and being in the area and that would give them a huge advantage over any other team should they be interested.

I've already heard Bryant say that he'd play for the vet minimum in Dallas. There would be virtually zero risk to the Cowboys if they bring him back for a look.

If he shows that he is physically done and can't get open? No problem, cut him, you gave it a shot.

But nobody's going to tell me that we have a 4th receiver on this roster better than he is.

This so? Dez got a higher AAV 2 years earlier and was off the team when the contract was half over

And what? Your team is stuck with Jeffery.

They hate him. He hates them. And they're stuck. Howie's cap management and reworking deals screwed them.

You're the last person who should be trying to point out issues with other teams' receivers.

I thought what they said is that they wanted that kind of play to be a catch, but the rules at that time left the issue unclear and open to interpretation. That's why they changed the wording of the rule a few years ago.

“Three years later, NFL decision-makers are in agreement that Dez Bryant did catch it, and they appear ready to take the steps necessary to harmonize the rulebook.

According to Kevin Seifert of ESPN, the NFL competition committee is working to overhaul the “going to the ground” part of the league’s broken catch rule, with the unanimous belief among committee members that plays like Bryant’s overruled catch against the Green Bay Packers during the NFC playoffs should have been ruled complete.”

They reviewed a couple other catches they agreed the NFL messed up on, Jesse James and Calvins, but regardless, IMO, it’s unfair to sum up Dezs career here with that play.

Just curious but once teams start losing players for 2-3 games, he could finally get a shot. Not to mention, having worked out with a couple of well-established QBs can't hurt. One thing I think we all can agree....there's no chance of a Cowboy reunion.

What you're saying is Bryant AGAIN is a last resort type of free agent like he was in 2018. If a team loses a couple receivers then Bryant may find someplace to go. This now isn't even a sure thing. Because of no preseason games this year there will be later draft choices and undrafted receivers that will be available and they will be cheaper and won't have the history of leading the league in drops, a problem in the locker room and on the sidelines and will probably be better route runners. It very well may be Bryant's mouth and being a one trick pony has seen his time come and go.

You can love him all you want but that doesn't make him still a player teams want. Let me ask you did you still love him when he was arrested for hitting his own mother?
