Is Dez our slowest receiver?

You can't come to the conclusion that he doesn't look like the same receiver based on Sunday.

Did he look like the same guy after he came back last year? Heck no.. They shut his season down early because he never was healthy.

No one is basing their opinion on Sunday, they're basing their opinion off of what we saw last season from him and it's carried over to this season so far. He looked like the same player on Sunday that we saw last season and it's concerning. It's not like he was being covered by an elite corner. He had a broken bone in his foot early last season so he couldn't play on it and wasn't shut down until late last season when our playoff chances were at zero.

What am I jumping the gun on? I'm not saying he's done, I'm saying he doesn't look as fast and quick as he did prior to the injury. Would you not agree with that?

Based on last year when he came back too soon from the injury I 100% agree with you.

Based on this year.. I have no freaking clue because we've only seen 1 game and not 1 time did I think he looked slow.

Also amazing how things that didn't happen are used to attack players on the team you're a "fan" of. Hall is a safety and AB went up primarily against Breeland but reality deflates your argument so you went with made up crap instead. Good job!
Why so angry?

You should have at least a "clue" based on this year, we just saw him play on Sunday and he looked like he did last season. Granted it's only one game but he still doesn't look right and it raises some concern. We'll just have to see how he looks the next few weeks.

Lol... He breaks his foot.... Comes back and plays on it. Plays 1 game during a new season... "He can't run anymore".

What kind of logic did you use to come up with that?
Didn't you know this whole board is full of professional scouts? And coaches?

He never did get much separation.

He never did get much separation but he was able to get free on some crossing routes earlier in his career and we seldom see him get free on those routes now.

Couple things in the video that validates what people here have been saying. Half of his catches were made when he wasn't "open". He creates big plays when catching slants and digs.

And we hardly ever see him running the slants and digs, why is that?

It is also more like about 80% of his catches that are contested. He doesn't get separation. Never has.

Apparently they don't call them for him. Almost every throw to him is outside the hashmarks.

Where did I say he can't run anymore? I said he can't run the way he used to.

They don't because he doesn't get open. You force a throw on a crossing route to a covered receiver and it could lead to a jumped route or a batted ball in the air. You're dealing with a lot of traffic and a receiver has to be open in that situation. On contested throws down the field Dez is able to use his size, strength and leaping ability to out muscle the defender it's either he wins or the ball falls incomplete.

All have better hands and are better route runners.

One of the best ever wasn't fast at all, Steve Largent, and speed wasn't Marvin Harrison's forte, unless you count a speeding bullet. But both of those receivers ran perfect routes and had the ability to keep their speed when making their cuts and they had great hands.

Rice's 40 times were in the 4.59 to 4.62 range but he played much faster than he timed. He was a great route runner and could separate from defenders like a 4.2 guy.

And, oddly, he looked quicker out of the blocks in the preseason games he played. I was encouraged that he was coming back better after the injury but I watched him closely Sunday and he didn't look as quick.

The DCs are going to stack the box to stop the run and do their best to take away Dak's preferred target. Witten was the leading receiver with Beasley second. That continues and we'll be talking draft before TDay. It in imperative that D's fear the #1WR and he's going to have to recreate that fear. They'll give us Witten all day long, Beasley too.

But it goes deeper than that, the DC's need to fear our offensive coaching and if they keep up what they did Sunday, the only ones that will fear them will be their own team.

If Tony Romo played sunday Dez would have had a monster day and zeke would have had some better looks to run the ball.

Why people are getting after dez I don't understand. If you have the nfl gamepass go watch the coaches film, dez was open all over the place but dak is not processing what is happening fast enough to get him the ball which is natural for a rookie quarterback.

The td dez dropped should have been thrown soon, dez is wide open with his hand up and the ball is thrown to late leaving dez no room.

Romo throws that pass as soon as he sees dez win off the line of scrimmage and its an over the shoulder walk in touchdown.

Playing a rookie quarterback is going to cause this, its normal and will continue to happen.

Heck that happens with Vets around here too.

Romo seems to be the only guy that can find a open receiver.

Can someone please helpout and post 40 times for our wide receivers.

I also believe Dez is our least quick receiver. Not sure how to back that up with stats...maybe the cone drill numbers?

Disclaimer: I like the guy, I like the guy! Relax.
People will blame last year's injury, but he probably just got fat. He is a moron.

I would prefer Hardy and TO on my team over him. Dez considers Mo a genius for scoring 4 on his wonderlic.
