Drew needs a perfect pocket to throw from for him to be effective, and this team can't provide that for him.

If you hit him early you can rattle him for the entire game, and teams are starting to do that. We just don't have the O-Line to give him the protection he needs.

Rob Pettiti and Torrin Tucker are below average players, far from starting NFL caliber, so I don't think anything will change unless we shore up the Tackle spot in the off-season.

Fair enough, but then use the whole season. Not the last 12 games.

Use none of the Bills or all of it.

I am not one of thsoe who thinks what eh did with the Bills matters. 7-3 is impressive enough for me even though I think he's tailed off a bit and I want better.

Careful Hos. He is about to acuse you of being a Vinny lover.

He often misses the mark badly when he fires scuds. I'm safe.

We may be winning by other means but that wasn't his point. His point was Bledsoe hasn't played as well the last few games and he's right.

Irrespective of the how the rest of the team has played, Bledsoe has come back to earth a little.

His point was to explain his original post. Which he said yes Drew is suffering from Vinnytestervidis or whatever. Which is what the original poster was asking.

Any fan can see the problems. He just wants to bash Drew and blame him for the o-line problems, flozells injury, craytons injury, julius injury, ect.... I guess Drew must keep a baseball bat in his locker

The fact is, like Drew or dislike Drew, he is one of the more difficult QB's in the NFL to protect for various reasons and it makes the pass protection look worse than what it actually is.

There is either a pocket to throw from or there is not a pocket.

It is not anything wrong with Bledsoe if there is no pocket.

That isn't necessarily true. It just makes it more difficult for the QB to do their job when the pocket breaks down. A QB still has to make good decisions when the pocket breaks down. For the most part Drew has done that very well this season. There have been some times when he has not. I was pleased that he didn't make those poor decisions against Detroit. There was consistent pressure and he didn't compound it with bad decisions.

How can the QB create the pocket ?

I am sure if there was anything that a QB could do to improve the pocket, they all would work on that.

Oh come off it WVC! Some QB's are better at using "less" than others. Drew has a terrific arm but he sets up incredibly slow which necessitates better protection than some that sets up more quickly in the pocket.

And I saw a lot of QB's yesterday that was getting more time than Drew. Manning could have had a picknick and still had time to throw the ball. I agree Drew is not the quickest guy out there and I do give some of the lack of time on him but the line shares in that as well. We have not been getting the same protection since Flo went down and are having to protect our Tackles too much which takes away options for Bledsoe.

Hey, not only does Manning set up quickly (and deliver the ball quickly) but he's got an incredible line. Honestly I think this line is giving him more protection than what Buffalo did... it's not great like Indy's but I truly believe that he makes it worse than what it actually is.

Defense and Marion Barber say it best. Bledsoe had very little to do with the win today.
Tell you what, you give Bledsoe the blame when we lose, you gotta give him the credit when we win. He certainly could have outdone the D and Barber and Jones if he had a mind to and lost that game without breaking a sweat. He didn't. He hung in there and took heat, hits and still made the plays when he needd too. Give him his due.....its the least you guys can do.

You bledsoe bashers really gotta be hating life today. He plays poor and Ya'll have to tip the hat to him.

Wow, who'd of thought Bledsoe could be 7-3 leading his cowboys to the playoffs. Damn glad hes here, how bout you guys. Sure beats Hutch by a country mile huh?

The line in Indy has one quality starter (Tarik Glenn) and two solid players in Ryan Diem and Jeff Saturday. The two guards are plug and plays who if you took them out of their system (and away from Manning) struggle. Just ask the Lions who spent top dollar for Rick Demulling and regret it since he is riding the bench. I firmly believe Manning makes that line better.

As for your comment about Bledsoe, I don't think so. The injuries and Petitti's inexperience are making things difficult for him. He is, however, falling back in the habit of getting antsy in the pocket now that he is getting hit with more frequency.

Hey, I'm not championing our O-line as being the greatest thing since sliced bread but like you pointed out a QB can make a line appear to be better (or worse) than it is.

As I said Drew share in this I'm not letting him off the hook but the line is struggling in pass protection as well. My reference to Manning was in yesterday’s game he had ample time to sit back and look over the field and still get the pass off without taking the hit. There were times I was counting 5 to 6 sec in the pocket and that is a life time for a QB to find the open man

And the bottom line is Dooms this is the best we've got at that moment...

OH BOY. Excuses. Don't we love those excuses. I guess we should excuse that last Seattle pass and blame it on the O-line... Is that we want to do? A QB who excuses his short-comings with a bad o-line is a still bad QB. 110 yards. 110 YARDS. That's all he got yesterday. No TD's, nothing else. ZERO. Zip. Zilch. Can you blame it ALL on the O-line? I don't think so.
