Is ET still in the works?

Nor should they. Especially in this case. The asking price is dropping daily. I'm estimating a 5th round pick and a player can get him.

I would not give over a 5th and only when ET agrees to a much reduced asking price of not over 5mil per year for 3 years.

Wasn’t planning yet another thread on this but hear me out. Jones is moving to corner and no safeties have even been brought in for a FA visit. That leaves a whopping three safeties on the whole roster. I assumed we would hit safety in the draft to fill the gaps. But that doesn’t appear to be the case. The visit list is almost entirely devoid of safeties. And none of the highly ranked ones. So what gives? Are we rolling with Heath, woods and Frazier?? Or is something else in the works?

Never really was in the works

Seattle is out of their minds asking for 2 first rounders. I really thought it was a joke or something. I have a feeling ET is staying in Seattle and will be a FA next year. The only way he don't is if ownership gets realistic about his value on the open market.

Seattle was asking for way to much in my opinion. I do wish that we would have got the honey badger tough and that fact that Suh basically signed for 1 year 8 million, when you factor in the insane taxes in LA, kinda pisses me off.

The Rams will be in cap HELL in a year or 2. The Texans got a nice player in the Honey Badger...but as good as he is..I'm not real sure he was the best fit here. I'm also thinking maybe he wasn't the best team mate in Zona.Otherwise he would be there still.I like the guys we have in the secondary.

I think Dallas checks in with the Seahawks as soon as Day One of the Draft is done and likely again during Day Two of the Draft. I still believe getting Area 29 is in play.

If I'm Seattle (and I know I'm not) , I trade him before this year's draft to get something back for him ; what's the best they will get if he simply walks next year , a 3rd ?

I think it is. I think the Cowboys aren't caving in to the Seahawks demands....at least not immediately. Draft day is when I think we will know for sure what's going to happen to Earl Thomas.

If Seattle waits til next year they get NOTHING. He is a free agent at that point. He only has 1 year remaining on his deal. So as you said,if Seattle wants to get anything back for him they must get realistic fast. No teams are beating down their door for him.

If any team gives up anything more than a 4th rounder for him, they got screwed. Right now if I'm needing a safety...here's what I'm thinking. Lets sit and wait on Seattle to get realistic about ET...and lets see whats available via the draft...and C...lets wait until June 1 cuts. Seattle really is screwing themselves if they allow him to play out his final year. Me thinks Seattle will do something before the draft.

He's talking about the comp pick the Seahawks would get in 2020 if someone signs Thomas as a free agent in 2019.

Yeah, the max they can get is a 3rd round compensatory pick, though it may more likely be a 4th. They would also have to not sign any FAs that would offset. A trade guarantees them a pick, letting him walk doesn't.

Look this nonsense needs to stop, as much as i luv ET from his UT days and what hes done in his career, hes on his last contract, hes looking to do nothing more to cash in and Seattle's not letting him go unless they get a kings ransom..

newsflash hes not worth a Kings ransom at this point..if he was a FA , maybe but they want Picks, trades of good players and ET wants BIG Money..i for one and not having a Herschel walker type deal help Seattle rebuild and quickly kill our cap for the next 10 years with more pipe dreams.

hes really good , could help our team, BUT HES NOT WORTH THE ASKING PRICE AND HOW MUCH IT COULD SET THEIS TEAM BACK.. Go get Reid or Vacarro or trade up for James or Fitzpatrick..id rather cost us draft picks on a rookie with ET talent and have him for 6plus years than ET for 2 and than his contract for 6..

i think we are ok we can either put a Vea up front that helps our backend with Woods and Frazier getting better or get a great safety in the draft and helps our Cb and front..either is still easily doable.. like i said we have options we aren't desperate and i think all this ET pipedream talk should be shut down..
