Why would Sea be interested in Dez and that contract?

They shouldn't be, just saying I would take it and run..lol
Earl carries a 10.4m cap hit
Dez carries a 16.5m cap hit

Don't think there will ever be a deal done here,,
Unless it involves a possible draft day trade,, that's where I somewhat agreeable.
The deal would have to include Dez, but the values of that trade are only pure speculation at this point.
I could see Dallas trading the contracts, but wanting more as in draft picks from us,, maybe a comp 4.
I would do that deal.
Most here would be able to stomach drafting a WR at 19 if that were to transpire, cause you know that would be the immediate result.

I don't think Seattle wants Dez. At all.

That's a personal opinion, and I get that, and all I'm am doing is climbing out on a thin branch as well.
Sammy got 16 per,, these are crazy FA times brother,,
I don't discount anything happening anymore,,,

Yeah, one never knows for sure. But I think Seattle is looking to free up cap space, get younger, and acquire draft picks. Dez Bryant does none of that.

Wasn’t planning yet another thread on this but hear me out. Jones is moving to corner and no safeties have even been brought in for a FA visit. That leaves a whopping three safeties on the whole roster. I assumed we would hit safety in the draft to fill the gaps. But that doesn’t appear to be the case. The visit list is almost entirely devoid of safeties. And none of the highly ranked ones. So what gives? Are we rolling with Heath, woods and Frazier?? Or is something else in the works?

Teams don't necessarily bring in every player they plan to draft for a visit. Even very high draft picks sometimes tell us they were surprised at who drafted them because there really wasn't any communication.

Trading Thomas would gain them the cap room and draft picks they need. That's why he's on the block.
I get that,, but the fact remains that both teams have shown, or at least media reported interest in moving said players.
Its a match made in heaven Stash,, this is Jerry we are talking about.

Cowboys heaven, maybe. But there's zero reason why the Seahawks would have any interest in Dez Bryant. Any trade idea involving Bryant to the Seahawks makes zero sense. That's all I'm saying. They would never touch him. He's the opposite of what they want.

I have soured on this idea. Love ET, but not if we had to give up anything of value if he is expecting a huge salary AND we have to give up draft capitol. He is a free agent after this season if he does sign long term with someone so wait it out. For this year, I give up nothing more than say a 4th rounder if dallas decides that they have to have him. Go sign Tre Boston or make a decision on one of the big two safeties in this draft (to move up)

Yeah, I agree with stash here. SEA needs to add OL and retool the various age and personality issues they have on defense. They actually ought to be motivated to flip Thomas if the compensation would be more than they'd get in a comp pick next year. Get a slightly better pick and get it a year earlier. The way safeties are not moving in FA, he probably won't get a huge deal next season, anyway.

The holdup would be what Thomas will take on a final contract. That number is probably something a lot less than he expected, but still a lot more than what the Cowboys might offer. He's got to decide how much of a haircut he's really willing to take.

Seattle is out of their minds asking for 2 first rounders. I really thought it was a joke or something. I have a feeling ET is staying in Seattle and will be a FA next year. The only way he don't is if ownership gets realistic about his value on the open market.

I thought that was the idiots in the giants FO that wanted two firsts. I think Seattle only wanted one.

Its early April. There's no rush. They are doing their due diligence. OPTIONS. Btw...its not Dallas' job to call Seattle at this point. If Seattle wants to be reasonable and are serious about a deal to move ET...then they SHOULD be the ones to come callin. Seattle has zero bargaining power.

I tend to doubt that Seattle really wants to make a deal to trade Earl Thomas unless they get an offer they can't refuse. Hence, the 1st and 3rd draft pick requirement for a trade. We aren't likely about to fall for that con job at this juncture. Let's hope we won't later, either. Woods shows promise and will likely get better with further development this year. ;)

Seems I heard they wanted a 1st and a 3rd, but that may all be rumor.

Imo even that is still too much for a guy that only has a couple more good years in him. That is really stubborn of their FO.

I think he only has one year left on his contract too.

I personally think that ship has sailed. I could maybe see a draft day trade, but, I wouldn't count on it. Sucks, I think Thomas in Dallas would be that shot in the arm this team really needs. With that said, I most definitely wouldn't sell the farm for him either. I'm glad Dallas (assuming they actually talked with Seattle) is being cautious about it.
