Is everyone cooling off on Miles Austin?

What happend?

I think were forgetting about him bc of the scaled down preseason playbook. Once we start w/ the combination routes and what not I think well see more of him.

Witten and Bennet controlling the middle of the field leaving Miles 1 on 1 on the outside w/ underrated speed.

Are you on the bandwagon?

I was never on it, but I hope he proves me wrong.

We need Roy to be like Irvin and Miles to be like Harper, if Miles shows up with some big plays this offense is going to be impossible to stop.

I've been a big Miles supporter but if he doesn't start showing up he will need to get the Stanback treatment.

No room for sorry always hurt, non productive players.

I think Miles has gotten partially overshadowed by the surprise of Ogletree's production and abilities.

I have been and will continue to be on Miles' bandwagon.

Didnt Miles get his shot last yr when Jerry cut Glenn? OTree is the man besides Miles drops too many passes!

OTree will allow Miles to focus on KOffs and the obligatory 9 route!

I don't think that was the plan at all. If TG would have had that knee in good enough condition, he would have been a Cowboy.

Him getting cut had nothing to do with the amount of confidence in the receivers behind him. Jerry just didn't think he could play.

MONT has a point about Miles focusing on KO returns.

Is Miles the #2 and Crayton playing slot?
No, Austin is number three, Hurd fell to four and Ogeltree will scarcely see the field beyond special teams.

People are overreactive and have short term memories. I was on Miles bandwagon all of last offseason after he'd dropped those passes at Washington and people were saying he had rock hands and can't play. I'm still on his bandwagon right now. I think by the end of the season he'll be a crucial part of this offense.

like others, i am not sold on him yet.

I am on Ogletree already, so I guess that means Austin has not much time to actually do something and not get hurt.
I also like Hurd's chances. He has shown the ability to catch everything in preseason.

If all you are trying to sell me Austin with is speed, I am not buying. Speed is overrated IMO. I believe the most important talent a WR can have is route running and catching ability. I you have that, you can overcome speed problems.

EDIT: now all three (speed, can catch, and good route running) would be an excellent thing, but Austin has not shown that yet, all I hear is speed right now and an ability to get injured.

I agree with this. Austin hasn't put it all together on a consistent basis to become worthy of confidence. He shows flashes, then gets injured, and the promise never comes to fruition. How can anyone view him as anything but a question mark? He has a chance this season to make a real difference. We'll see if it happens.

I'm on the fence with Austin. He has shown flashes but he does get nicked. This is the perfect year for him to put it all together and be a difference maker.
