Is Fujita our weakest link on Defense?

True, but in the mean time we're top 5-10 in every defensive category.

A lot of very good offenses did nothing against us.

I agree...couldnt be any worse than Fugita and Shanle...and Fowler showed some ability to play really physical in preseason

yeah, it starts with clogging the middle. but it doesn't end there.

pat williams does roughly the same job. check his statline. check the statlines for all other starting NTs. for the bank we paid for ferguson - i see diminished returns. you see it another way... good for you.

We were dominated by Philly and Fujita was a part of it. So was Ware. Despite Phillys record they are miles better than Detroit.

Our defense is suspect at times and we are not putting pressure on the QB well.

Fujita causes problems. Ware is making lots of mistakes altho his upside is huge. And I acknowledge Fujita is not a true starter.

However you cannot just judge the defense by stating we won didn't we.

We do have some problems.

It was nice to see Henry out there.

come on nors you have to admit that your boy fugita is not playing well! I am a big proponent of the 3-4 but IMO we need a VRABEL type on that side...Fugita is not Vrabel!

The funny thing is how Fujita was going to replace Al, and this defense was going to take off. Barber was a bust too. Julius wasn't tough enough or good enough either. Newman was awful. The list goes on and on...

Fujita is still learning. He'll improve like everyone else on this defense. In the meantime, they aren't bad right now.

Nors, I'm not disuting that our Defense played well against the Lions (although saying they "rocked" is stretching it a bid). But the point of my starting this thread is to call Fujita out as the wekest link in our defense; at times Fujita can be our D's Achiles' heal. You disagree with this? If so then who else do you see as the D's weakest link, and why?

I'm willing to give Fujita a small amount of leeway since he had no training camp and has never played in a 3-4 before that being said though. I think Fowler needs more snaps at least he has had much more training in the 3-4 although it was at ILB

My subjective take is we didn't get good pressure today but u may be right. Ellis caused a turnover and I saw several hurried passes. What are the actual number of pressures?
