You can throw stats out the window when playing NT in the 3-4. Fergy and Glover are menat to plug a hole and they are doing a good job.

I believe Scott Fujita is our weakest link compared to the rest of the defense... because what I saw yesterday out of him was bullwash...

- Some plays went right by him
- He could have had a sack but Joey Harrington got 5 yards
- He miss the runningback...

Honestly I think Cowboys should play him on the inside and at DE sometimes instead of putting him out there at outside linebacker... he's not a true OLB...

..and develop him possibly to start in the defense next year.

He's been thrown into starting and only been with the team since what, early September..?

I don't doubt that offenses are going to try to attack him..he's new.

We have to wait and see if he learns from his mistakes of late.

Remember, BP has been saying all off-season since we went to the 3-4, that OLBer has been a concern and that depth was a concern. They have tried converting Dl into Lbers to fill the void and then traded for Fujita to help, too.

So this should come as no surprise.

It's a problem until such time as Fujita gets more reps in practice and/or games and he stops the blown assignments. Every team is going to try to attack him and isolate him with matchups until he handles it.

Consider what's happening to be crash-course learning for the job next year.

I suspect, the draft or FA next year is going to fill this hole.

For now, we stuff what we have in the leak and hope the leak doesn't prove to be a gapping hole. All the teams are having to deal with this stuff as the season goes on.

Depth..depth..depth.

For once, this year we seem to have it with guys like MBIII, Pettiti and Tucker and Fugita being able to play decent after players have fallen.

I think Fujita will settle. BP liked him when they traded for him and he was very effective in KC but he was playing a different defensive scheme there.

So it will take some time.

We'll see.

For this defense to be really good we need playmakers at linebacker. Right now we have one.

Nit picking..............

We gave up 58 yards rushing.

It was a swing pass to Jones that he wiffed on. We can dog him all we want...BP is the ultimate judge.

Parcells has started Shanle and Fujita replaced Al. We are now 2-0 post Al....

And 4-1 with Shanle starting.

get with the program!

FYI, keep up with your players Nors, Al S. is injured, not replaced. For a guy that post as much as you do I would think that you would know this and what the difference is.

Fujita has been called out by BP last week for the Macflab TD. He wiffed on K. Jones yesterday. Not saying he's getting cut today, but I'm sure he's hearing about it in the film room.

If you don't think so then you probably haven't experienced what it is like in a film room after you've made a bonehead play. Rewind, play, rewind, play....over and over...

Did you ever play organized football ?

Fujita is only a hold the fort type. I had hoped Shanle and Dat would man the inside spots to allow James, who's more gifted athletically, to man the strongside. That being said, we're nitpicking since we really played solid yesterday. The day Burnett realizes he's the man, Fujita will be a situational player and special teamer. But again, nipicking since we really shut them down and they have a very explosive team despite their results so far.

Mods, if this isn't a ban-worthy offence, I don't know what is. Kudos to Whip for managing to restrain himself from giving this clown the tongue-lashing he deserves. Perhaps you could reward him by taking out the trash.

You're the only one who knows about the 1.5 sacks Jamal Williams has.

Nice try though.

Yep.......I played some but in my day there were no films of games, no weight room, no decent lockers, very, very few assistant coaches, hand me down uniforms, etc..............oh, I forgot we practiced on a dirt field with lots of rocks........oh well, did I mention an awful lot of owies! :D ;)

Fugy is the weak link now with Dat not a starter anymore and Dever will attack him early & often...I do think he should improve as he learns the ins & outs of the position, but he is limited with his athletic ability, he doesn't seem too strong nor quick...Thats the truth now...I also think Burnett makes a better ILBer with James, but we need him outside now...As he would also make a better rusher...

Yep, we need more players at LBer, inside & out as Dat won't be back next year ether...

Frankly, we need to set Glover down and start Fergy at NT so Glover could be more effective as a passrusher where we really need some help...

We have no innovation on nickle downs, lots of time joey had all day to throw, if that doesn't change, were getting beat easily by a very good balanced offense of Denver...

yeah - i accidently posted the sackline of chad lavalais. but it doesn't change the fact that williams has 24 tackles and 3 blocked passes while splitting time with cesaire who has 15 tackles and a sack. doesn't ferguson get snaps in the 4-3, too? i'm suggesting ferguson gets very little push up the middle. at least with laroi you get somebody who can flush a QB. in any alignment.

bottom line for me... for the money Dallas shelled out - ferguson provides little other than run support. and that disappoints me.

Lol...I hear ya. At my old HS they built all of these new fields and facilities (My tax dollars at work). I picked up a friend of mines kid, who is playing for the team...I showed him the field we used to play on and asked him if that is now the practice field...he said, no way, that field is terrible and people could get hurt on it. Rocks and drainage pipes.

He asked me where we practiced, I said right where you are standing, which is now a beaten down mud pack parking lot.

We both got a good laugh outta that.

Chalk it up to a difference expectations for Fergie.

I wan't expecting Leon Lett or any sacks for that matter.

All I want from our NT is to stuff the run.

With the exception of Oakland and the 2nd Philly game we've done that.

W/O Ferguson we're real small up the middle and our run D is bottom half of league IMO.
