Is it actually dangerous to wear Cowboy's gear to the Linc?

Both rankings that were subjective and based upon statistics, have Dallas ranked significantly higher in the power ratings, than Philadelphia.

The fans snack on grilled rats and follow burn barrels around the parking lot hoping for free Ripple.

As posted, they still feel they are a two touchdown favorite...so take the reference for face value.

I hear that the movie that had the Walking Dead was filmed in that stadium. But hey, vodo dolls full of pins are relatively cheep to display.

Good thing that they have never won a Lombardi, or there could be a dormant sense of entitlement as well.

:igglestrophy:...go prepared to just watch quietly:

Don't know about Philadelphia but I'll assume it's worse than what it was for me the several games I have watched in Washington.

The main problem we had in Washington was things being thrown at us from people behind us as we sat and watched the game. Everything from half full beers in plastic cups and food to watches and key chains.

I wasn't really afraid of what was going on outside of the stadium as much as I was from getting nailed in the head while watching the game. I've heard Philadelphia is alot worse.

I'd rather just watch the Boys in the comfort of my own home than put up with those idiots.

I recall a conversation with some Giants' fans about how awful the Eagles crowd was, and how they'd never go back there. Also, back when the Eagles had picked up an old school Raiders player, he commented about how excessive the fans were in Philadelphia.

In OAK, anyway, I've worn not-a-Raiders jersey. But only in my seats. It was definitely not a smart move on my part. I made sure I had black on, underneath.

I would never go to two cities with a cowboys jersey on, Philly and Oakland (mainly cause the cities suck). I've been to two away games (San Fran and Seattle), both times I got some banter my way, but never anything threatening (I'm also 6'3" and 240lbs which probably helps). I'm headed to the New Orleans game for my stag, I wonder if that town is ok for opposing fans? I'm assuming there will be a lot of boys fans at that game considering how close Dallas is.

Honestly, these days I wouldn't wear Cowboys gear to a rival stadium if I had a kid with me. (it's sad but that's just the state of society these days) Without kids I would wear it. Just don't talk too much smack especially if the Boys are winning. Also be vigilant you can usually spot trouble makers.

I've seen Cowboy games at RFK, FedEx, the Meadowlands, the Vet, Foxborough, Three Rivers and Texas Stadium. Never the Linc, but the Vet was by far the worst. I was with 2 girls and it was a night game on a holiday so the whole stadium was drunk. I kept quiet and it was easy because we lost badly.

Expect a lot of language, cat calls and insults. A few tossed beers and maybe a few shoves.

A fight isn't likely if you don't push back but you have to eat a lot of crap or challenge everyone and miss the game. It only takes one idiot to ruin your day though.

I've been to a number of Eagles Cowbows games in Philly & would recommend against wearing the star.

Even if you can handle one or two drunk fans, nobody can take on a dozen or an entire section - which can happen. Last year, we watched a huge guy with a Witten jersey below us on the field level get hit with food and what appeared to be coins for 3 quarters until he finally left the stadium. The people around us thought that was funny. I had beer thrown at me when I was 11 or 12.

They are basically cowards and there is no self policing or sense of outrage among the fan base, they pride themselves on being depraved and seem to spend more energy hating the visiting team and fans than rooting for their own team. I don't think that it's unsafe, per say (outside of the remote parking lots) it's just that you will likely be distracted by screaming morons and or stuff being thrown at you throughout the game.

Well...when i was 13...i wore my Hershel jersey to Veterans stadium in the 700 level and I had grown men threatening to beat me up. So i didn't wear anything when I went to the Linc a couple of years ago. Good luck! ;)

You didn't wear anything the next time? :omg: What kind of reaction did you get at that game? I'm suprised we didn't see something about it in the news.:D

Seriously. I wouldn't step foot anywhere near that stadium. In a Cowboys,Eagles or any other kind of jersey. It's a crap hole full of drunken idiots just looking for a reason to fight. Must be the frustration of having to root for a team that has never and will never win anything of significance.

Has anybody done this? What are your experiences? I am going to the game on Sunday and was thinking of wearing my Dez jersey.

In the old stadium There were whiskey bottles thrown at refers and Cowboy fans. You covered up your Cowboy stuff and hurried to your vehicle after the game. I understand that in the new stadium (Lin) I have not heard of those incidents but it is still Philly and their fans really do not like the Cowboys or their fans.

talk about being a lighting rod for negative attention and vibes.

i know a little about that. i used to live in D.C. in the 80s and wore my Cowboys gear proudly. The hate fueled me. I was insane.

good luck though and be careful. also take a pic or video of you burning an eagles jersey in the parking lot to document the reaction you get. i hear midnight green recycled polyester lights up really well there.

Save your money for a trip to Dallas. Support your team on their home field. Go a couple days early, take the stadium tour (I did this summer and highly recommend it). If you have been a Cowboys fan and on this forum for long, you ought to know going to Philly dressed in Cowboys gear is not wise.
