Is it James Casey vs Martellus Bennett?

Awesome idea.

And then next year.... we can dump Casey and pickup a new TE in round 2 again.

Looking forward to it!

We lost Tony Curtis...so we do have an opening for the third TE.
Also I think Casey would create some mismatches against LB's if you lined him up as a FB and then put him in the slot.
Played some qb so you could use him as a wildcat qb with Felix in there as well.
Curtis played quite a bit last season until he was injured.
I think we could snag this guy in the third or fourth round maybe.

BSPN is your source and for the wildcat, brilliant. And when did I say I wanted to draft a 3rd option? You twist words now to? I don't want Casey, I'd rather go O-line personally....

What a wack response.

So because Mosley reported it that means they didn't go work the kid out?

What if Nick Eatman said it...

Should we believe it now? lol.

Who has to put words in your mouth...

If that is your whole point then he would still be #3 in rotation.

You just wrote that 3 posts ago. You were saying he would be #3 in the rotation of TE's behind Witten and Marty B.

I think I said this earlier, but this conversation is above your head. You didn't even know the Cowboys sent some people to work the kid out on Wednesday.

We didn't lose him. We got rid of him. And resigned Rodney Hannah yesterday so he's basically the 3rd TE.

And Casey isn't making it to the 4th round. Early 3rd, maybe.

Trade Bennett for a late round pick and use the 2nd on Casey?

Sounds like a nightmare waiting to come true.

:hammer:

Typical Jerry move too :bang2:

We were hypothetically speaking about us drafting him, not me wanting to draft him. And you say I'm slow. And no I didn't know they worked him out, so what. We worked a lot of kids out, big deal. If we draft him great, I hope he pans out but as of right now your original idea about Bennett being trade bait is still crap.

Anybody that thinks they would be drafting Casey to replace Bennett needs to put away the crackpipe. Bennett is way more talented and way more physical than Casey is.

Honestly I doubt they draft him anyway, from what I saw on the highlight reels of him he has almost no shot to be a fulltime FB. He is too tall and angular. I also dont believe he weighs anywhere near the 245-246 that people claim. And if he cant come in here and play FB all the time in addition to the other things he can do, he's a wasted pick IMO.

Would not mind Casey a bit. A receiving FB/HB? Kind of a cross between Moose and Cooley (only straight I hope). He would be a great option for counters and swing passes. Imagine him out there with Felix! He can also play the slot. What does he bring to special teams? Can he return? Looks a little too big and slow for KR to me.

Whether he is worth picking in the second, I doubt. We need a Safety real bad right now. But if he is there in the third and the best player available...........

Well, that's what he weighed in at during both the Combine and his Pro Day workouts, and of course both of those were in front of witnesses... 6-3 even, 246 pounds, both times...

So I'm listing him at 6-3, 246 pounds... :D
