Is It Just Me Or Is Stephon Gilmore Just Average At Best

I would draft another corner and re-sign Gilmore to rest him more.

Imagine Gilmore, Diggs, Bland, and a stud rookie as your top 4.

It's just you! The guy's presence and leadership are amazing and he was in AJ Brown's head all night long!

He is getting up there. Not going to be the lights out CB he was. Still he has been good and last night he was a beast. Much better than an average player.
With Diggs' own ACL injury & recovery, we dunno if he himself will be what he once was as well.

It's a totally cross our fingers, wait and see - and that may even take more than just a year to see.

no it isnt. This isnt the 60s and Diggs isnt Gayle Sayers. ACL surgery, repair and rehab is as common as a cold in todays world.

We dunno that.
Gilmore is already an example of that.
it's a reason why he went from DPOY... to bouncing around several teams after his ACL injury.
he just wasn't what he used to be post ACL. Everybody knows and recognizes this.

Players bodies are different. It varies.
What one player can recover from to be previous form (ala Adrian Peterson) it will affect other
players differently (ala Gilmore)

Father time gets em all. Diggs is what?? 25 or 26? He will be fine. And it happened early, so his rehab will be done and he wont miss a game.

Yeah, this seemed silly last week, now it's downright dumb.
Gilmore is a pros pro. Of course he's lost a step, but what a savvy veteran.
If possible, just like Cooks - try to get at least another year on a reasonable contract. We signed Cooks for 2 years and Gilmore for 1, he is invaluable in the locker room and has shown he is still better than most. Diggs may go thru the same curve as Pollard and our RT. The surgery may be healed but it always seems to take another year for alot of players to trust it.
Will.be very interesting how they spend their fraft resources this off-season with no 4th and 5th picks (not counting Comps yet.)
OT, RB, LBer, and Corner are all top needs. As well as filling out depth. Especially when we are picking at the end of the round : )

Michael Gallop says hello. His ACL surgery was January 2022 and we all saw how he looked 10-12 months later.

I hope Diggs comes back the same player right away (and he very well may), but the point is you can't be sure that will happen.

Gallup has played ag this year at best.... can you say it is because of his ACL?

That's the cross the fingers optimistic.

If we get Gilmore to return next year, i'm not concerned about Diggs being on PUP, etc. (should he even need that)
as we'd have an utterly tremendous luxury with a Gilmore/Bland lineup.

Yes, Diggs will (should) be healthy enuff to be back on the playing field,
but we'll have to see if he's recovered both on a physical ..and mental sense.

Steele has already had his successful Rehab work in and done, but on the actual playing field, he's still
trying to recover and regain his previous form, on both a physical.. and mental sense.
It may vary among players.
