I'm not saying the 27-23 result was purely a result of the Vikings' desire to knock off America's Team as we did shoot ourselves in the foot plenty of times yesterday.

But I'll bet you either live in Texas or don't spend much time talking to fans of other teams. The Cowboys are just as polarizing as ever. We're still the team NFL fans either love or love to hate.

That being said, yes, I do believe the Vikings PLAYERS (who have no personal ties to Minnesota or the rivalry with Green Bay) would see the Cowboys as a "bigger game" than the Packers. Especially since making the playoffs is out of the question for them.

Let me put it to you this way: there's a lot more NFL players from the south than there are from the midwest, right? So based on that alone, doesn't it stand to reason that a lot of these Vikings players grew up caring much more about the Dallas Cowboys than the Green Bay Packers? I bet if you polled these guys, a lot of them either grew up as Cowboys fans or hated the Cowboys. But they probably were indifferent towards the Packers/Cardinals/Bucs until they got to Minnesota/San Francisco/Carolina and were told to start disliking them.

Heck, we all saw how many people Adrian Peterson had at the game. You don't think he wanted this one a tad more?

Actually I live in Green Bay so I have a pretty good indication of how other teams fans perceive playing the Cowboys. The Cowboys may be polarizing as ever when it comes to fans, but I am not going to believe for a minute that playing the Cowboys as an NFL player is any different than other games on the schedule. I don't need to be an NFL player to know that a division rival is going to jack you up as a player more than playing the Dallas Cowboys these days.

Your whole theory on Southern players disliking the Cowboys is very weak in my opinion. The Dallas Cowboys have struggled to be relevant in the NFL world for over 15 years.

The Vikings were in this game because this team is poorly coached, the offense is anemic, and the defense is beat up playing in a new system. I refuse to believe that the Vikings were in this game because they were extra motivated to play the franchise of the Cowboys.

“There are no 1-7 teams in this league,” Jones said. “That’s not the way it is with an NFL team. These guys play better than 1-7 when we play them.”

The man is just like a fan who happens to own the football team.

All this man needs is a twitter account and a seat next to Jim Irsay.

Irsay actually is more of an angry drunk. I have him on my Twitter feed and he goes off when his team disappoints him.

Jerry is a confused drunk. If he had a Twitter account it would be a garbled disjointed mess just like it is when he speaks.

The Dallas Cowboys have struggled to be relevant in the NFL world for over 15 years

We "struggle to stay relevant" yet we have easily the biggest fanbase AND we're easily the most hated team in the NFL. We're worth easily the most amount of money and our games are easily the highest-rated on TV. News stories which feature the Cowboys are the highest-rated, and online articles featuring the Cowboys generate the most clicks.

Say what you will about the Cowboys... but we are the definition of relevant. We're the NFL's Yankees/Lakers and you're living in a cave if you didn't already know that about your favorite team.

When your team's playing against THAT team, more guys on the team will care a bit more about THAT game than if they were playing a team like the Cardinals.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Something tells me that most young MLB players would generally be a tad more pumped about a roadtrip to face the Yankees than, say, the Rays, but that's just me.

Funny that you live in Green Bay... I was born in Madison and still have a lot of family friends there. They're all Packers fans and they all despise the Cowboys.

There were a few camera shots of Jones with 5 minutes left in the game and he definitely looked nervous as hell. I'm not sure why. A loss would have brought more "relevant" attention to his team.
