Depends on who you ask or what website one uses as their source. Personally I would say yes because the kid has a will to be great. That's something that can't be taught.

I think you want to sew it for a few seasons before cementing that claim. Parsons in the 49ers game wasn't as effective, but was just coming off covid and needed oxygen to stay in the game. In the Eagles game they did a good against him in getting him to have to drop into coverage when also having to worry about Hurts. However, he hit his stride in the 2nd half. The last game against the Lions didn't he closeout the game with a sack?

My claim is: "He's not there yet, but he could be one day"

The others are the ones claim he is, without a doubt, the best defensive player in the league.

Was a no show against the 49ers in the post-season, was a near no-show against the Eagles. He also wasn't dominant today either and saw him get stood up a couple times.

He could be the best defensive player in the league one day. But he's not there yet. Every single player on this defense has a lot to prove still after what they allowed against the Eagles.

niners I'll give you (although I think he may have been concussed honestly) Eagles... they definitely found a way to neutralize him, but I feel like that's somewhat of a case for his stature honestly. Last game though he was absolutely dominant.

News Flash. He is pretty good because he can do everything really well. No one trick pony here. He is therefore the best most versatile player in the league. He is not the best player at a single position. Damn unicorn is what he is. No one else in the league can do what he does.

If he’s not, he is real close…

I've actually been surprised at how confidently a lot of the media has already anointed him as the best. I think he's the most versatile for sure, but theres some guys out there with an argument for best.

Yes, injuries happen. Parsons has also been dinged up, he'll eventually hit his stretch of missing games at some point too especially with how often we move him around at his size. Simple fact is, you said NOBODY is better than him since entering the league - except for the guy who had 22.5 sacks last year and won DPOY or Aaron Donald who helped his team to a Super Bowl victory last season.

he's semantically talking about the last 24 games. TJ Watt hasn't played for two months, so technically he's correct. In any event he was still neck and neck w/ TJ for dpoy while playing (and learning) de part time last year.

I don't like this argument that the Eagles just had this mystical game plan that was focused only around Parsons - I know the comments the Eagles DC made about paying attention to Parsons the entire game (You do this with any great player) - but the simple fact is, Parsons had many one on one with a veteran OL, and he simply lost. Lane Johnson schooled him - the "best defensive player in the league" shouldn't be having these moments.

It was actually Demarcus Lawrence that had success against Johnson.

I'm referring more to how they were isolating him and reading him w/ out blockers. It was an interesting schematic wrinkle. Not mystical, it was very obviously devised purposely for him. Lane Johnson is a terrific tackle. Every "best in the league" player has been schooled or handled at one time or another. I don't mind it from what we've seen him do. I still wouldn't say he was the best, personally. Just don't particularly agree with your points

Agreed definitely among the best right now, but probably needs to hit another all-pro or 2 to be there.

I say he's at least in the conversation. And very much may be. As disruptive as he his, I feel he is a big reason the defense is balling out like it is.
Yes when healthy. He shows it with his pressure abd the impact he’s having on guys like d Armstrong,

I mean, TJ Watt already go an award for a huge chunk of those "Nobody has played better than Parsons" - DPOY. So 18 games out of those 24 have gone to TJ Watt. So yeah, it takes Watt being sidelined for Parson's to take the top spot. Congratulations? Now if only Parsons doesn't ghost when we need him the most. That's his next step. As I said, this is the expectations this board created with the criticisms they gave to Ware.
1. Yeah we get it, you’re a big Ware fan you’ve only mentioned him unprompted in all of your 20 posts in this thread.

2. who are you talking too? You’re not pulling out old quotes by the posters you’re quoting your just attributing and opinion to everyone on the board. People are humoring you by ignoring you trying to get this weird Ware argument going but….you just keep throwing it in there.

3. So what’s your actual argument. That both Ware and Parsons are frauds. That parsons is and Ware isn’t for some reason. You seem to be mad about and imaginary opinion that the whole board has of Ware so the idea is to take that argument and try to apply it to parsons to show how everyone’s being hypocrites because…….of reasons. Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to be like “people said the same about Ware and that’s ********”. Even going the full ****** rout of “they’re both overrated frauds” makes more cognitive sense.

Maybe you should...and then maybe check out some other defensive players and league and stop disrespecting them? You realize there was a DPOY last year and it wasn't Parsons, yes?

....settle down Francis. Parsons is the man: accept it.

1. You don't get the point. Until you do, stop flapping your gums

2. The thread about this was made like week ago, big brain. Pull up the "Ware vs. Parsons" thread. It's not hard

3. My argument has already been made. Read, comphrend and then post. Until then, as I said, stop flapping your gums

Who is up next?

Accept what? Why do you dorks rush in when you don't even understand the argument? I never said Parsons isn't a great player, heck even said he could possibly be the best defensive player - I said, as of now, he has a lot to learn. He's not on the level of Watt and Donald YET.

I know this is tough for some of you to understand, but you don't always have give your input on everything. You can read something and then move along, especially if you aren't following along with the discussion.

Some of the comments hear are mindblowing. "He hasn't shown up in every game" "he got shut out against X opponent"

Guys, I take it you don't watch the Rams, 49ers or Steelers because neither does Donald, Bosa, or Watt.

Someone said the LAC line sucks. OK, so why didn't Myles Garrett get a single sack against them or Pittsburgh, another team with a crap offensive line?

Donald only has 4 sacks this year. He got shut out by Atlanta (only 2 tackles all game), San Francisco and the vaunted Carolina offensive line....

TJ Watt played 1 game this year....

We can do this for any player.
