Is Micah Parsons the best defensive player in the league?

Some of the comments hear are mindblowing. "He hasn't shown up in every game" "he got shut out against X opponent"

Guys, I take it you don't watch the Rams, 49ers or Steelers because neither does Donald, Bosa, or Watt.

Someone said the LAC line sucks. OK, so why didn't Myles Garrett get a single sack against them or Pittsburgh, another team with a crap offensive line?

Donald only has 4 sacks this year. He got shut out by Atlanta (only 2 tackles all game), San Francisco and the vaunted Carolina offensive line....

TJ Watt played 1 game this year....

We can do this for any player.

Donald plays DT - and while he moves around, he's not going to consistently have high sack totals. LOL

And Parsons is having a great season - but he got schooled by Lane Johnson a little over a week ago. This is undeniable - Demarcus Lawrence is the player that made Johnson look foolish.

That's the point - Parsons is still learning and he still has young player mistakes. It says a lot about his future, but RIGHT NOW he still has a lot to learn.

Was a no show against the 49ers in the post-season, was a near no-show against the Eagles. He also wasn't dominant today either and saw him get stood up a couple times.

He could be the best defensive player in the league one day. But he's not there yet. Every single player on this defense has a lot to prove still after what they allowed against the Eagles.

This happens to every single player in the league on occasions, this is the pros. Just like in the NBA, you bound to get dunked on

and what’s your argument? Are you saying that Ware deserves whatever perceived criticism from a thread made weeks ago that nobody but yourself cares about and Micah deserves the same criticism? Is it that Ware doesn’t deserve the hate that you somehow believe the whole board has for him and it’s only fair game Micah gets it as well? Like make a point that isn’t just being argumentative.

revive that thread and talk to yourself, it’s what that threads about apparently and you really, really want to talk about it.

Yes he is. He only had one average game this season and that was against the egirls. And once Lane Johnson left the game he played much better.

It's not ABOUT Ware, alt. Again, there goes the drool on your chin. It's about the argument used AGAINST Ware. You can replace Ware with any player, it wouldn't matter. The argument made by these members was this: You're not the best if you don't show up in big moments and when the lights are the brightest. So until Parsons proves he can do that, BY THEIR OWN ARGUMENT, he is not the best.

Need a picture book now, alt? You shouldn't be struggling this much lol

Parsons is a special player. He is in the discussion of being the best defensive player and in the discussion of having the best year. Long way to go. Him and watt were nearly tief last year, this year watt is hurt so hes out.

I've actually been surprised at how confidently a lot of the media has already anointed him as the best. I think he's the most versatile for sure, but theres some guys out there with an argument for best.

is there another defensive player in the league that could have chased the detroit TE down and force him down short? That saved 7 points. I certainly understand why people have anointed him…

Uh, we are not talking about Parsons losing a battle here and there. We are talking about Lane Johnson stonewalling Parsons for two quarters before Johnson went out with an injury. He didn't school Demarcus Lawrence - Lawrence actually made Johnson looked stupid. It's kind of like, Parsons is still learning and not the best in the league yet. He's young, it happens - but he's not Watt or Donald yet. Watt and Donald didn't get to the level they are at now over night.
