Is Philly better at building teams than us?

While Jerry and Stephen are droning on about why the salary cap won’t allow us to do this or that, we all get to watch the eagles GM Howie Roseman say, “Hold my beer” while he makes all kind of moves.

Perhaps more easily explained -while our GM is announcing the next big concert, boxing match or tractor pull happening at AT&T, the eagles GM is working only on making his team better.

they always have a dominant two way dt. they had f cox for a decade. Now they have two younger d tackles with cox still rotating. we have good outside guys like ware and
Micah. Their defenses are consistently more physical and better against the run. we both build up the o lines and receiver corps. you can argue daks a better qb. they have two number one wr s and a top te. they made two superbowls in the last 5 years. we often rush the passer and cover well but struggle defending the run. Is that the key?
I don't think they are better at drafting. Signing FAs with potential is about the same. Where they outdo us is on trades and top-tier FA spending. For example, they are willing to pump up their DL by adding a player like Hassan Reddick for 3 years, $45 million. Under their current philosophy, the Joneses would never make that move.

I know you're not talking to me I state any given Sunday anytime and I don't even know who you are you don't come in here often enough to know who I am because I don't even see your post very often so don't say I can't grasp it I can't grasp why why somebody's gonna come on here and talk about the Philadelphia Eagles that was my point... I really don't care it shouldn't be on our front page until the week we play them and that is it,,
No, I was quoting YOUR post.

That said, no worries if I don't fit your "club mentaltiy" per post count.

Honestly, I probably spend more time on this forum than I post. That said, a buddy and I are on another "hobby forum" that started in the late 90's. He has over 300k of posts on the forum and I only have about 1,200 after over 20 years.

But I do completely agree with you that way too many here speak of another team on this forum.

I just love how everyone here predicts the entire game after the first drive of the game and the entire season off a couple of games.

I believe your lines are better than you guys give them credit for. You legitimately have a borderline top 5 Oline. The biggest reason IMO is the person you guys seem to hate the sight of
I don't think so, their have been very few running lanes, the pass protection has been inconsistent and they are committing too many penalties.

Is this a real question? Lol. Dallas isn't even in the same realm as building a team as the Eagles. 2 Super Bowl appearances and a ring in the last 6-7 seasons. And aren't slowing down any time soon. Their team from their 1st Super Bowl to now is almost entirely different. And a different coaching staff. They reload, they don't rebuild. They way they work the trad the market, offseason and the draft puts us to shame.

But this is what happens when the GM is actually accountable to the owner and his job security is based on doing his job. Not a franchise like ours where the GM and owner are the same entity. We are a clown show spinning our wheels where adult fans are desperate for their team to even witness their first NFC championship game. A few generations of fans who have never seen this once. We see this as a long shot goal while Philly views this as the bare minimum. Such a different mentality.

Also, go look at the Eagles when Hurts starting to take over in 2020 vs how they progressed. All the moves they made to build probably the best OL, one of the best sets of WRs in the league and a pretty stout defense. Their progression from 2020 to 2021 and then 2021 to 2022 is really spectacular. Once the Wentz experiment failed, Eagles looked dead in the water and a franchise going nowhere. They drafted Hurts, who wasn't considered some long term answer but looked at what they did. Drafted Devante Smith for him and traded for AJ Brown. Not to mention they got to Goedert one pick before us. They then traded for Swift. Might have the best overall offense in the league.

All while we do things like trade a top 10 WR in Cooper for absolutely nothing. Extend a below average Gallup, who is coming off a serious injury. Trade for guys like Cooks and TY Hilton. Guys over the hill and don't do much.

They are proactive and get better. We spin our wheels and go nowhere.

It is ok to go root for them. Pretty simple.

I think that’s a scheme and preparation issue as opposed to strictly a talent issue
