Is Philly better at building teams than us?

Lately, over the last decade, of course they are better at it than the Cowboys.

They won the Superbowl in 2018, and lost the last Superbowl earlier this year (with a different QB and HC).

We Cowboys fans are merely hoping for a "deep playoff run".

Why is this even a thread? LOL
They were better in the previous decade too where from 2000-2009, they went to 5 NFC Title games and 1 SB and the Cowboys, over the same period............................... had one playoff win. LOL. Since 2000, there really isn't much of a debate as to who has been better run. Frankly, it's not evan all that close a discussion.

:hammer:Now prove what you claim...the Eagles are just better and smarter! Own up and let's go...you hide behind one liner labels.

'they won a Super Bowl before hurts… 2017, is that recent enough for you?'
That is what you commented to me!

The Eagles dropped Andy Reid, after he took the Eagles to the Super Bowl and now HIS time hit #1 in Kansas City.

The current time line for the Eagles is with their 3 last seasons where they took to the draft a ton of picks that turned them BACK around.

A person doesn't state 1 or 2 good things and then proceed to add up their own negatives. One pays attention to all good things and add them up before doing an analysis...unless agenda is one's real motivation.

It's simple. You can slice it anyway you want but since 2000, the Eagles have been the much better run franchise.

Anyone who tries to argue differently is just being foolish at this point.

So, if the Cowboys went 0-16 twice after winning the Super Bowl, they would still be a better team over the past three seasons by virtue of that Super Bowl year?

The fact that the Eagles lost two weeks later than the Cowboys in one of the past three seasons trumps every other measure combined?

I'm not saying that the Cowboys are better at building teams than the Eagles, I'm saying it's too close to call.

Almost every single team in the NFL went through a complete roster change since the year the Eagles won a Super Bowl
If the Cowboys went 0-16 after a SB and then in a few years rebuilt the team and were back in the SB, yeah, you could make the case they are more adept at roster building.

Yes, postseason success is the ultimate barometer of how good you are at roster building. And it's not that the Eagles just happened to win two more playoff games than us. In the last 6 seasons, they have been to two SBs. We have two playoff wins total. It isn't as close as you think.

I wonder who made the initial phone call between the Eagles and the Titans for the two trades they did. I doubt it was the Titans.

Meanwhile our team isn't making any calls.

Obviously. They have been to six NFC championships since Dallas last made one. What kind of question is this?
Who was the coach, to take a snapshot instead of a drive by shot?

how's YOUR team doing? Jerrys team is 4-2 we are coming off a bye week our players are getting healthier getting Evans to add to the LB core ,and we don't have a lot of glaring needs.. my opinion it's been more about scheme and execution add in play calling...

that's what they should be working on and YOU should not be worried about jerry's team. But what your teams name the city optimist 5-year-old Pee-wee league??.:muttley::huh::laugh:

Wow 4-2, that may as well count as another Super Bowl win right? As if that means anything at the end of the season. We used to win actual Super Bowls now we have an owner who is content with losing in the playoffs. Now he announces he's going to sit on his hands while the trade deadline passes us by and you seem happy with that. I guess the loser mentality is spreading to fans and not just the owner.

Meanwhile the Eagles just improved to 6-1 on Sunday then and then Monday made a trade. They are not content with regular season wins they think bigger, while our owner and many fans have a tiny brain.

YES 4-2 technically 1 game back from the few teams with a 6-1 record with 11 to go...so does the 6-1 record guarantee them a SB? that 1.5 games different and they only have 10 To go and we have the h2h still to play ? umm ok a double standard AGAIN...

.. how about we wait till after the season to discuss any of this for ANY TEAM before we have this discussion??? or did you hand P{hilly and or KC the trophy already? like the paper dream team?? right maybe knee jerk reaction or like usual an overreaction by our fan base LETs wait until its OVER and champions crowned, and we can talk about what happened. Didn't the Eagles have the best record in the league last year and still didn't win a Super Bowl?? They're getting that participation trophy a pat on the back?? Now this year you think this one move for a safety that the Titans were willing to give up for a 4th and 5th you think this is some kind of big bold move that already handing them the ring?

so there's 32 teams in the league let show me all the big moves before the trade deadline the other teams have made. Not just ride jerry who else hasnt made a significant move and this ONE move Philly made its already a success??? seems like people here want to make this about jerry like hes the ONLY gm/team that doesnt make big moves at the trade deadline. the fact is most teams do not... The right players are not available, or they cost too much et cetera etcetera.

lol, and this is the current picture:

Current NFC leaders in record for first 6 weeks:

Philadelphia 6-1
Detroit 5-2
San Francisco 5-2
Seattle 4-2
Dallas 4-2
Atlanta 4-3

Go Cowboys!

The Ravens just tore apart Detroit.
San Francisco lost their 2nd.

To further set clear...that in no way is a current to hell with Jerry picture.

Well apparently, if you bring in one overrated safety for a fourth and fifth round pick you're a shoe in for the ring...LOL I'm not discounting their move but until they proved it was a great move that put them over the top it's just an overrated move...IMHO these overreaction right on time every year..

Some of these fans think they know what they're talking about they've already crowned some of these teams... Like I just challenged him show me all 32 teams yearly that make big moves bold moves right before the trade deadline and it wins them a Super Bowl, automatic??
You think if teams knew this and if Jerry knew this was a guarantee and it was automatic they wouldn't all do it then if they all did it anything.. Wasn't the amari Cooper trade a great trade at the trade deadline it turned our whole season around but still didn't get us past the second round...

Mike Mayock had a story about Howie when he was the Raiders GM, said Howie would call teams periodically just to let them know that if they ever we’re going to trade a player to talk to him first

And since the OP made this thread Philly wins a game and then makes a trade. Meanwhile Jerry kicks back and says "we like our team, we're not going to make any calls. But if you want to blow us away with something you can try" And GMs around the league roll their eyes and deal with other teams.
