Is Philly better at building teams than us?

Our DT isn't allowed to make plays until he's in his 3rd year
they had a highly rated knucklehead fall into their lap at pick 20. we grabbed a project in the 20s not exactly apples to apples. jordan davis has taken time as well and he was much higher rated

They’re better at finding QBs. That’s the main thing. They’ve gone to the post season with at least 5 different qbs in the last 15 years. Cowboys are afraid to move on from any qb with moderate success.

I was sad at the Quincy Carter conclusion but i was happy they move on because I never believed in him, even(no especially) after the year he took us to the postseason. If he didn’t submit to his demons, jerrry would’ve paid him and he would’ve been our qb for a decade
that is incredibly false. theyre better at building teams to supplement any qb

The Eagles went to and won a Super Bowl with their backup QB. Does anything more need to be said.

Eagles are trying to win too, and Dallas has a different philosophy of team building...both do a good job.
I think we are doing alright with the team building, as far as evaluating talent. We are lacking in building the right culture to win though. Though, Jerry does like to throw away 2nd round picks, by gambling on injured and drug addicted players.

We should have been building the OLine all along.

Spending super high picks on RBs or LBers just is so 1980ish.

We just need a real GM...but we'll never have one. Just Jerruh, and then his idiot son once Jerruh is dead...and now his idiot son has convinced himself he can GM the team just like Daddy did.

They aren't afraid to cut their losses. They got rid of Wentz when it wasn't working. Four years after they traded a fortune to move up in the draft for him. They didn't care that it may look bad to outsiders. They don't fall in love with their own players and keep hoping they improve.

They are pretty good at trading. Whether players or draft picks etc.

I never hear the owner or GM doing any pressers during the year.

From what I can see, they aren't afraid to cut losses with a QB. No matter how high he was drafted. They fired a Super Bowl winning coach. Don't hear the owner or GM doing any interviews.

You can't argue with the results. However, the Cowboys aren't some sad sack franchise either. Draft extremely well. Always competing. Dallas has a rich history though. Thus, just competing for playoff spots and winning a round isn't enough for a team who has won 5 SB titles.

The difference is the Eagles’ owner does not think of himself as some sort of football expert. I imagine he can veto any decision he feels like, but he has hired people to make his NFL franchise successful and if the people he hired fail he’ll terminate their employment and hire others he feel will perform better. This is fairly common in contemporary American business. The Dallas Cowboys are not similar to other NFL franchises in that regard. The Dallas Cowboys are unique. Unlike other NFL franchise ownership groups, Jerry is almost as happy not winning a Super Bowl as winning one. It is Cowboys fans’ cross to bear.

They’ve been better at building teams than us the past 20 years. They’ve been to a number of conference title games, three Super Bowls and won a championship. Over that same period the Cowboys haven’t even won a divisional round playoff game.

Which team would you rather be?

The 2007 New England Patriots who went into the playoffs 16-0 and headed into the Super Bowl at 19-0 only to lose for the first time all season?

.. or ..

The 2007 New York Giants who went into the playoffs as a wildcard at 10-6 and won the Super Bowl against a 19-0 team?

Which team had the better personnel department? The 10-6 team or the 16-0 team?
The Giants before and after those years went back to suckage, while the Patriots were in the postseason almost every year and won a few Super Bowls. The Patriots always had a chance with Brady and Bellicheat. Did you ever feel that way about the Giants?
