Is Philly better at building teams than us?

Which team would you rather be?

The 2007 New England Patriots who went into the playoffs 16-0 and headed into the Super Bowl at 19-0 only to lose for the first time all season?

.. or ..

The 2007 New York Giants who went into the playoffs as a wildcard at 10-6 and won the Super Bowl against a 19-0 team?

Which team had the better personnel department? The 10-6 team or the 16-0 team?
I'd rather be the 2007 Patriots. Why?
Because, at the point you're referencing, they had made
it to the AFC Championship in 6 of 7 seasons.

I'd much rather be part of a dynasty than a flash in the pan.

Read that again, people. 6 AFC Championship Games
in 7 seasons! We're sitting here in year 28, I think, just
hoping for one.

Better owner, GM, and a coach that players are excited about; I have to say yes.

Groceries are bought at the same market; one organization is better at cooking.

You guys need to read up on David Tepper, owner of the Panthers (sorry, live in NC, stuck with them and can't help avoid them 24/7).

I was reading a couple of stories about Tepper and watching a couple of discussions of him online this weekend.

Reality is, Tepper reminds me a lot of Jerry Jones all but for the fact Tepper didn't luck out of having a Jimmy Johnson type as a friend who he could bring in.

On average, I'd guess most successful NFL teams have owners who let the people they hire run the organization and they stay out of operations and running the show for the most part (behind the scenes when they do). Generally speaking, when you have family involved running a business, the brains can pass a generation or two and you get your business into trouble.

Here is the thing about the NFL business and in part a reason why Jerry Jones is so successful with the Cowboys IMO. David Tepper paid 2.2 billion dollars for the Carolina Panthers in May of 2018. Less than 6 years later, the Panthers (one of the biggest dumpster fires in the NFL in part due to Tepper's meddling of the team he owns) is now worth 4.1 Billion dollars. What other business is there where you can come in, have a total cluster fiasco, keep having a total fiasco directly involving ownwership, yet still increase the net worth of the company? FACT is Jerry Jones should be paying Jimmy Johnson royalties.

Do I honestly believe the NFL is rigged? No. Do I think the NFL is exactly like the WWE or whatever pro wrestling is now called? Yes. In Jerry's defense, he helps the NFL make money.

Well let's see. Has philly done better in the playoffs in recent t years? I'm thinking 2 trips to a SB is better than a team who barely wins wildcard weekends

The answer is an easy yes. They have a real gm. They are an organization that’s been to three super bowls and been to I think 7 conference title games since 2000. We have an arrogant egotistical maniac of a gm who is way to loyal for his own good with very little playoff success in the same amount of time.

The eagles understand how important the OL and DL are plus they've have good luck filling those area's.

Results say yes! The trenches and AJ Brown and Swift would be great trades

We got Gilmore and Hankins which isn’t horrible but may not be enough

We do however seem to have a lot of success against them

Philly don’t make SB last year if not for Brock Purdy being hurt

they always have a dominant two way dt. they had f cox for a decade. Now they have two younger d tackles with cox still rotating. we have good outside guys like ware and
Micah. Their defenses are consistently more physical and better against the run. we both build up the o lines and receiver corps. you can argue daks a better qb. they have two number one wr s and a top te. they made two superbowls in the last 5 years. we often rush the passer and cover well but struggle defending the run. Is that the key?
Tough to say. But I think we beat Philly.

Eagles are trying to win too, and Dallas has a different philosophy of team building...both do a good job.
This is like saying the guy who painted your house and DaVinci both did a good job.

Absolutely. They have won a superbowl and gone to another . They have a GM that isn't afraid to get rid of players and also makes really good trades.

Our front office keeps coaches and players around to long, spends half it's time circle j*rking each other over Dak , and makes some bone headed moves.

But hey the cowboys franchise worth more money! All the Jones boys care about

Great.

Which team is more likely to make a postseason run? It ain’t us.

Which team has been better over 20 years? It ain’t close.

This thread is kind of based on a ridiculous question. Of course Philly has been better at team building than us in recent years.

Yes. And their coaches are better
