Is Prescott another Romo?

There is a term “trap game” that was coined to define this very type of game. They happen at all points of the season. So your nuance is pretty lousy. Btw you know the Cowboys won right?
The term "trap game" is intangible. There's no way to measure it.

We CAN however measure whether a team is ready for the season or not based on whether starters played in the preseason or not.
So my nuance is on point.
There's more of an understanding that teams that don't start their starters would be more rusty than teams that did.

Second, yes, the Cowboys won. But that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about the condition of teams at the beginning of the season versus near the end of the season. ;)

He had this defense when they went 13-3 and were one and done vs Giants. Parcells had built a Super Bowl roster on both sides of the ball and Romo couldn’t get it done.
Seems the Giants also built a SB roster and actually won that SB. Maybe Crayton could help get it done a little right?

The debate continues but sadly a guy like Brock Purdy now has a better chance at hoisting a Lombardi than either of our last 2 guys will or have ever have had. Life is sometimes like that

Please, nobody reference the “ box of chocolates” quotation

Romo is rarely talked about except by Cowboys fans. Most of the times when people talk Romo, they mention how he was divisive, a choker, and his streak of 1-5, 8-8, 8-8, and 8-8 kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

Not saying Eli is elite, but Romo literally watched from his couch while Eli hoisted up 2 Super Bowl titles. lol.
Go to the YouTube and see how many fans of other teams comment on how good a QB Tony was in videos of his highlights. Sure, fans of other teams (and even fans of this team) will have its haters who can’t look at things objectively. But, this idea that no one from another team ever talked about Romo is complete garbage. Every opposing team respected his QB play, especially in his prime years.

Shows flashes of talent but has the uh oh factor and will never get over the hump?
Romo forced balls because he didn't have great defensive teams to rely on. Whereas Prescot has a defense that most QBs would KILL for. Unfortunately for the Boys, Prescot's play is to eradicate to depend on. Personally, I think MM should have BENCHED Prescot when it was obvious that Prescot was going to tank against a DOUBLE DIGIT DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's time for this head coach and FO to sit Prescot down and read him the riot act! Prescot is not as talented as all the experts think he is, Prescot is a TOAD HUNTER at best. Since he's returned from his injury, he has got into this SLOW START mode that is killing this team. Give Rush back the keys to this machine and watch the horses run with him under center.

The way Romo gets dragged here in light of Dak’s often abysmal play is legitimately embarrassing. So much revisionist history. Romo carried teams with half the skill position talent Dak has and never had a defense remotely this good. Just embarrassing.

Perfectly said and devastatingly accurate

Romo made Laurent Robinson look like a legitimate receiver for Pete's sake

Up until ~3 weeks ago people on this forum were bashing CeeDee Lamb for his inadequacy as a receiver

Huge difference in the standard Romo was held to vs Prescott. Not even close

2007 defense
9th yards allowed per game
13th points allowed per game

2022 defense
5th yards per game
3rd points per game
2nd in takeaways (1 behind the Eagles)

Not even remotely comparable

Romo threw his picks in the 4th quarter of games. Dak likes to throw his in the 2nd quarter for some reason.
Romo would throw his pics when we had less than a minute to go in desperation because he already brought us back twice but the defense continued to let him down and he’d have to do it a third time. Give me a 2013/14 Romo with this team over Dak… and I like Dak.

I’d rather have Dak. He plays with more fire.

It appears he will be another Romo in the sense that he also will not ever get to a SB...maybe not even NFCCG either. He has had better overall talent around him and a better defense. But i guess still not good enough to overcome him.
