Is Prescott another Romo?

Two QB’s in the history of the league won the Super Bowl in their first full year as a starter. The defense that beat Romo that year also beat the 19-0 Patriots that had stomped all of the league that year-just for reference

Yeah that's crap. I'm a Romo a fan and i'm telling you right now in 2007 nobody was scared of the Giants and we sure as hell didn't excuse losing to them because they won a SB. This is the revisionist history stuff i'm talking about.
Romo wasn't his best that game but also had some key drops including the infamous drop by Crayton. Cowboys should've never lost to the Giants I don't care that they won the SB. We can sit here and make excuses for all of their 1st round exits. They were a 13 team win and had 13 Pro Bowlers and a few All Pro players. I can't let you sit here and re-write history. Not on that season. If you want to defend Romo go to those crappy years where he had Mackenzie Bernadeau and Nate Livings on his offensive line.

Prescott is definitely more inconsistent and spotty on his accuracy, but he has a knack for making the gotta have it plays.

Romo was kind of the opposite, but I think if you gave Romo Prescott’s teams he would have had more success. Would have been less on his shoulders.

My problem with Romo is he was a gunslinger and would audible out of runs to passes just to attack.

His ball security at crucial points of the game was suspect at best and terrible at the most inopportune times.

Then coming back in the game with a punctured lung to win against SF should rank as gutsiest performance for a QB.
Which has nothing to do with his gutless performance against Eagles 44-3. Admired Romo for being tough in punctured lunch game but was not related to my point.

Give me 2014 Romo on this team and we'd be Super Bowl favorites.
Give me 2016 rookie Dak, who threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs during a playoff game (something Romo never did after 6 tries) and brought the team back from being down 18 points halfway through the 2nd quarter to tie with 35 seconds left, paired up with this team.

That's like comparing Carson Palmer to Kirk Cousins.

Carson had tons of arm talent, but just would F up just enough times to keep you from ever doing much in the playoffs.

Kirk is more careful with the ball, and can win a lot of games, but ultimately when it comes playoff time, his limited ceiling holds u back.

I won't say which one is Dak, and which one is Romo. It simply doesn't matter. BUT, they're both good enuff to keep the team in the news, which is Jerruh's goal.

Like your post, but I had to comment on your name. You have to be the biggest Bandwagoner in DFW! :D

Romo could have a great game and find ways to lose. Dak can have a bad game and find a way to win... so no

Yeah, how dare Romo rely on the defense to actually do its job for once. It's all on him for them sucking. The same excuses people give for Dak, those people would whine when people gave those excuses for Romo.

It's a team game. It's not all on the QB. Of course, that little bit of wisdom is only used to defend Dak. How dare anyone use it for Romo.

I’m glad to read a lot of these comments about an inconsistent play. I don’t know I am waiting to see it’s been seven years. He is still not a bad quarterback

But it's more understandable that teams would be rusty at the beginning of the season than near the end of the season because many starters don't really play much until the season begins.
That's my point.
How's that for nuance? ;)
There is a term “trap game” that was coined to define this very type of game. They happen at all points of the season. So your nuance is pretty lousy. Btw you know the Cowboys won right?

In a way, Dak is another Romo. He keeps both teams in the game and tends to play down to competition. Dak , like Romo, shrinks when the lights are brightest and has yet to make a dent in the playoffs.
