Is Rod Smith the answer at runningback?

I like Morris better, he had some pretty nice runs without a passing game to support him because of the issues at LT. We'll be fine if Bell can come in and hold his own.

With zeke out with suspension, we got to see Alfred, Rod, and DMC play. After watching that game, I really believe that R . smith is strictly a third stringer.

Right now, I'd agree, Locimus but if he succeeds in impressing enough to inspire the staff to award him increasing carries in the games to come, it could be intriguing to see his ongoing development. I'd like nothing better than to see him get fired up and kick some tail vs. Philly. Presently, he's yet a work in progress who I'm still hoping will surprise us all before this season is said and done. :)

last week really wasnt an opportunity to figure out the run game.
hopefully more info this week. DMF will likely get more chances

Yup...we pretty much over-rated the whole situation @ RB. Morris was running on fumes by the 2nd quarter last Sunday. If we are not gonna use Mcfadden...then why keep him around? He clearly is he better back. Rod Smith flashed in the pre-season...and has since...become just a JAG. We lack speed @ the position..that is for sure. Seems like there are massive cutback lanes all the time...or bounce that stuff to the outside for massive gains..but our RBs are too slow to exploit this.

I thought it was the third quarter Alf started getting it going but maybe it was the second? Overall he played well after a sluggish start. Unfortunately our coaches are idiots and sat him the moment he got some momentum. Smh

Block for the guy and let McFadden carry the ball like you do Zeke and the running game will be fine. This is being made to look harder than it needs to be. It's just football not rocket science.

Realistically, the Eagles are very likely to impose a defense that has already proven to be #1 in the NFL for stopping the run. I'm hoping for the best in terms of our offense being successful, although it's entirely possible that the Cowboys would be limited in their running success. Like it or not, we're prone to experience frustration in producing a running attack that brings the Eagles to their knees. It's more likely that using a balanced attack tp take advantage of their inability to stop opponents' passing would work well enough to claim a victory for us Sunday night.

I think they should be playing McFadden or Smith and incorporate them into the passing game. Just don't run them straight into the back of the OL or the teeth of the defense. Lol.

I'd vote for that as well, although I'm not sure the Dallas staff sees fit to use that plan. As adept as the Eagles are at plugging the run (they're #1 at doing so) maybe it'd be wise to present a balanced attack, instead of depending on our running game to dominate. I believe the Eagles are prone to surrendering more success vs. a balanced attack, rather than to a team depending strongly upon a ground and pound strategy. I think Dak will likely have his work cut out for him Sunday night against a tough Philly front seven. Here's hoping our OL (with help) is up to the task this time.

If the question is "Who sucks at each position?" yes, Rod Smith's the answer at RB.

The answer at running back is:

Our running game is not going to dominate again until Zeke comes back.

And for the love of god, hope that Zeke doesn’t get in trouble again.

Btw I like Rod as a special teamed. You need guys like him on a team.

But he is not going to be a 25 carry a game, bellcow running back.
