Is Romo a hall of famer?

Big Ben won his championships when he had the best defense of the last decade.

How many has he won since?
It doesn't matter. He had a significant game-winning drive and threw the perfect pass. That pass and catch is a part of Super Bowl lore.
Besides, we're not talking about a defense ranked with the 85 Bears, the 00 Ravens or the 02 Buccaneers.
What history remembers about the Steelers Super Bowl win against the Cardinals is Harrison's 99 yard return and Big Ben's pass to Santonio Holmes.

He wont. Saw the kid play in HS and honestly never thought he would make it this far with his unorthodox throwing motion; so Im cheering for him. But its always something; he just cant get right.
We'll see. At least he has chapters left to be written in his career.

Cowboys Zone tells me he’s a top 5 quarterback along the likes of SUPERBOWL winners like Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Ben, and Manning.

Will the all time great Romo be in the hall of fame?

Or is he just Andy Dalton 2.0 a career loser?

Cowboy Zone tells you that? You must be reading a different Cowboy Zone than I am. There are some that probably rate Romo higher than I would, and others that rate him lower than I would, but I don't see anyone putting him in the same category with Brady, Brees etc ...

Why don't you fess up. You aren't asking a serious question, you are simply creating a bash Romo thread.

I’m not pretending context doesn’t go out the window when it comes to the HOF discussion - frankly, the list for the HOF would be a lot smaller if I was putting people in and i’d leave people like Ben AND Romo off the list.

For me, the HOF is either 1. Fame 2. Transcending players

This is why I would put someone like Vick in before I put a QB who has rings.

I know Big Ben is a lock, but I do wish context would start to matter - Ben go to where he did due to having a shut down defense. Didn’t that team go like 3 seasons without giving up 100 yards rushing in a game? It was insane.

really you lost credibility when you added Chad H..he had good enough to own all OUR records here and that against two HOF QBS that came before him..he lacks big time Playoff run and a SB..

Hes good enough to be considered and really unfair because hes every bit as good as ELI but ELI had better team that got him 2 SBs and Eli will be in.. Stats and talent room deserves it but no hardware will keep him just short of it...

Romo was very under appreciated here but he was GREAT..not just good, maybe not Elite but nither was a lot of QBS who won SBs with better teams around them..
It was a joke bro. I should have added an emoticon. Lol

Except folks are saying Rivers is one NOW.

And no one makes the HOF because they made a championship game. Get this crap out of here

QBs make the HOF due to crazy stats or Super Bowl rings.

Examples

Marino for stats
Aikman for rings

Rivers won’t get in because he made some championship games. That’s not how it works.

Current ranking for all-time passing leaders

1. Drew Brees, 74,111
2. Peyton Manning 71,940
3. Brett Favre 71,838
4. Tom Brady 70,138
5. Dan Marino 61,361
6. Ben Roethlisberger 55,527
7. Eli Manning, 55,371
8. Philip Rivers, 54,299
9. John Elway, 51,475
10. Warren Moon, 49,325

Rivers is ranked eighth on the all-time passing list. He's above Warren Moon (who doesn't have a Super Bowl ring nor played in a Super Bowl). If he plays two to three more years, he'll overtake Dan Marino (who doesn't have a Super Bowl ring), and he'll likely pass Eli Manning, who appears to be on his last leg.

His championship game will be a factor (remember, he played with a torn ACL, which factors into his lore) along with his stats. If he gets to a Super Bowl this year, he's a definite Hall of Famer.

I was going to say no at first but if people think Dak is a starting QB then Romo should be in the HOF.

Technically, wouldn’t Andy Dalton be a Tony Romo 2.0? Personally I don’t think Dalton is in the same league, just this failed on so many levels

It's not about regular season stats or franchise team records. It's about being among the best in the NFL during their era. Romo was never top 5 but maybe one season and even that wasn't that spectacular statistically. Add to that late season and postseason success in regard to his individual accomplishments and stats and there's really no way it warrants HOF.

Ring of honor? Hell yes, no question or debate, he's in.

The guy he replaced with the Chargers is breaking every NFL record there is to be set. He wont get in.
So? They don't just take one quarterback from an era. He is slowly amassing the passing numbers. If he gets to the Super Bowl, he's likely in. He has more yards than Warren Moon, who doesn't have a ring and likely will surpass Eli Manning and Dan Marino. I don't know yet if he'll get in or not and neither do you. But he has the numbers. Right now, maybe he doesn't get in the Hall of Fame. He gets in the Super Bowl, his chances are higher he gets in. If he wins the Super Bowl, I predict he gets in no questions.

Yes, you can. His Super Bowl rings, and his play leading up to and in the Super Bowl. It's the Hall of FAME not the Hall of Stats.
If you have contributed stats and have contributed significant moments to the game, especially at the highest level, the voters will select you.
Despite his current production, Eli made plays in the big games leading up to the Super Bowl and in the Super Bowl. And he's a Manning.
He will get in over Romo.
Aaron Hernandez is famous, should he be in?

Applying team accomplishments to individuals is the dumbest thing that the HoF committee and sports fans do.

A lot of Super Bowl wins come down to the stats of the QB. Hard to win a Super Bowl if your QB doesn’t play well. Not many teams have won multiple Super Bowls without having a great QB.
Eli didn't play well in those Super Bowls.

Fair enough.
I don't think Jerome Bettis or Curtis Martin (both compilers, IMO) should be in. But what do I know?

C'mon. Aaron Hernandez is infamous for an off-the-field issue.

With all due respect, this comment makes no sense at all. EVERYTHING a player does on a TEAM is a TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! This isn't boxing or MMA.
By your standard, no one would be in the Hall of Fame.
