Is Romo a hall of famer?

Probably not, but an UDFA who owns pretty much all the Franchise records I’d say he’s got a chance, and don’t forget with him being a broadcaster it’s going to make him more relevant come voting time. He will make the ROH for sure and I think next year or the year after Jerry will have it done.

Unreal. The level of Romo defense is insane!
It’s not just the Romo defense. I thought I made a fair argument in Romo’s shortened career but the slant towards Eli even slamming Rivers and now Marino.

Good gawd. He should have quit when we just thought he hated Eli. Lol

As much as I'd like to see Tony Romo make the HOF, I seriously doubt he'll make it. He was very good but just not very great.

You're not reading what I said. That Romo did nothing past the regular season. Romo's stats aren't even that great. Team-wise, sure. But top 6-10 QBs in their era aren't making the HOF.
Why are we even talking about Marino? Good god people.
And I wasn't JUST referring to JUST stats. And he's not in for the regular season.
He played in 18 play off games!

But that’s not what you were saying, you stated regular season stats aren’t getting you in

The argument you should be saying is, average to great stats won’t get you in at the QB position.

Someone like Drew Brees, even if he never won a super bowl, would still get in the HOF due to his “regular season stats”

And “playoff appearances” never factor in for HOF votes and you folks need to stop pretending it does. Marino was known as a choke artist, similar to Peyton Manning up until 2006, in the post-season.

Marino was the epitome of a regular season warrior and saved his worst games for the post season.

As for “18 playoff appearances”

Marino made the playoffs from 1983 to 1985 and didn’t return to the playoffs until 1990. His best post season came in 1994, but the. After that, got trounced by the Broncos and Jags I’m back to back seasons before he retired.

QBs can get in to the HOF on regular season success, but they need to be stat breakers during their era.

Romo wasn’t that, he was a top 10 QB who had a couple seasons where he was top 3-5. If someone like Rivers gets in, the HOF bar lowers and Romo should get in.

I made my stance clear, Romo should not get in and a lot of players in the Hall shouldn’t be there either. It’s a watered down achievement already.

They already have guys like Eli and Ben in the HOF...

Also, seems like Rivers is also getting a push to be one. So, I see no reason why Romo can’t get in.
Romo looks nothing like these guys.
Eli and Ben have 2 SB rings each. Romo doesn't.
All three of them have huge numbers put up over 13+ seasons (and counting) as starters. Romo was a starter for 7 (mostly) full seasons.

Romo doesn't match up with Ben or Rivers on career value; he doesn't match up to Ben or Eli on team accomplishment. You could make an argument on peak value, but I don't think it's a strong enough one to make up for the other factors (e.g. he was never league MVP, though he came close in 2014).

(Eli also doesn't belong in the HoF: he simply has never been that good.)

Hall of Fame choker. Don’t earn the nickname Choke-Mo for nothing. Certainly wasn’t Playoff-Mo.

Cowboys Zone tells me he’s a top 5 quarterback along the likes of SUPERBOWL winners like Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Ben, and Manning.

Will the all time great Romo be in the hall of fame?

Or is he just Andy Dalton 2.0 a career loser?
No. Gotta have some SB appearances at least to make it. Jmo.

Who cares? He’s getting in LOL

It’s ridiculous to say otherwise
IDK. I don’t think he’s a lock but I’d vote for him over Romo.

Eli had some of his best games on the biggest stages. Thats called impact.

7 full seasons wasn’t enough for Romo. Not without more post season success.

No. Cowboys Ring of Honor, yes, but not HOF.

Romo put up some amazing numbers, but look at the QB's that played in his era and the fact he won just two playoff games. That wasn't all his fault, but the Hall won't let him in.

What makes me sick is an inconsistent turnover machine called Eli Manning will get in because his defense gave him two titles and he played long enough to pile up a ton of passing years. And, oh yeah, his last name. Can't forget that.

His story and career might interesting enough to get him in like 15-20 years from now.

Also a HOF'er in booth right now if he continues to stay as good as he is.

LOL bad argument is bad.

1. Rivers hasn’t accomplished ANYTHING that puts him above Romo. “Playoff appearances” do not factor into the vote. Stop with the BS.

2. Passing yards, unless they are state breaking, do not factor into the HOF today due to the passing league

So what has Rivers done that Romo didn’t that qualifies him for the HOF? About all you got is longevity, but Rivers is not Favre or Brady.

Romo and Rivers are side by side comparisons. A lot of talent, top 10 guys who had some top 3-5 seasons but nothing to show for it when it comes to rings.

If Rivers gets in, it not only helps Romo, it brings down the entire qualification for the HOF.

Also “Eli doesn’t belong” - he is arguably the most qualified of any of those QBs to make the HOF. LOL

It's not ridiculous.

Yes, yes it is...

Eli Manning is a mediocre QB that will get in because he made two of the most memorable throws in Super Bowl history.

It’s the Hall of Fame, not Hall of Stats.

Pretending voters will simply overlook two of most famous throws in Super Bowl history IS ridiculous and you all will be crying when he gets that gold jacket.

Just accept it and don’t look like a fool.
