Is Romo the Answer?

He's put up some nice stats, but hasn't delivered in the three most important games of his career. Is this an aberration, or is the guy a stat padder who will never deliver when it really counts?

He has some skills that are tough to coach and some habits that seem to be hard to coach out of him. He has good feet, good accuracy on short, intermediate and deep throws, a strong enough arm and he has the ability to make plays in the clutch.

However, he was not given a reasonable chance to succeed this year due to the lack of pass protection, an inconsistent running game and possibly and undisciplined set of WRs.

Given how few good QBs there are in the league, I think we should hitch ourselves to Romo for a few more years. I would not be averse to begin looking for his replacement via a mid-round draft choice.

The guy can play but for me i think he needs better coaching and needs to take a more aggressive approach into the game and show more passion and heart especially after bad losses. The old if we win thats great , If we lose thats life attitude isnt good enough at this elite level in my opinion. It comes across as if he is thinking Ohhh well we lost i will go away with the misses again and everything will be o.k. Hes to lacsadasical in his attitude and approach towards football.

A coaching change and someone who can put some deadset fire in his belly is what we need.

No one who hasn't won 2 straight super bowls or something should be without competition. If he's good as he needs to be, competition shouldn't bother him one bit. You should EARN job security, it shouldn't be GIVEN to you.....

Nice post, freezing man!

If you really realize it, Romo is a baby to the NFL! And what he has done so far is pretty damn good!

Two and a half years as a starter? He should have won the SB two years by now!

For all his faults this season, some need to give the guy a break. It's not easy to be a QB in the NFL, much less for the Cowboys!

I really think that better times are ahead of us...

Its 2009 or bust for Romo, if he doesn't win a playoff game next year (see how our standards have slipped) then I'm ok with parting ways with him.

Is this a serious post!

Dude!

What if the Colts said the same thing about Manning?

Go back to HollyWood...where you can make all the movies in the world turn out good and fine!

2009 is the year Romo proves He's the answer. If he stinks it up again and goes game after game throwing a Dumb Int or bone head play He is not the answer. so far He's proven he can play with teh best of them but when it really matters and when the team needs a clutch performance and leadership he fumbles it away.

Romo not the problem. O Line that still cant pick up the blitz after 2 1/2 years or gain a yard on the ground in key situations is the problem. Romo must feel he has done several tours in the war after some of the shots he's taken last couple years.

Dont compare Romo to Manning...The only thing romo has going for himself right now is that he does have some skills. But as far as brains and Leadership he does not. Atlast not that He's shown. Untill Romo Wins a Playoff game and doesnt choke and make bone head mistakes lets try and keep this realistic ok.

Romo has to learn to protect the football. He is someone to be gameplanned. He can make plays. Boy can he make them. He just needs to stop making them for the other team. This is not something that has never been seen. He just has to stop it. I'm starting to wonder if he can. Let's hope so.

Wrong!

You can't gain experience in just two years or so...not in the NFL!

Amazing! So, if Romo does not win the next SB, we ditch him? The who? And, how long do we give the next guy?

Wow....

HAY GUYS LAY OFF ROMO HE'S BASICALLY A ROOKIE!!1!1

I'm so sick and tired of that loser excuse.

Romo is what he is.

He's under contract until forever for a gazillion dollars, so we are stuck with him.

The comparison to Manning is likely in regards to the fact that it took Manning forever to win a playoff game....much like Romo. The comparison is legit.

Ok...

But give the kid some time to learn! And, give the kid some protection.

Remember, Romo is just one of the players on this team.

i have said this before.....

i want romo to be a success in dallas, i pull for him and hope he turns into a hall of fame qb

but, imo, he has to change his attitude

that" if we win..ok. if we lose, ok" statement after the philly game set me off

aikman, emmitt, irvin, etc, etc would have never said that.

losing KILLED them.

romo needs that kind of attitude....imo

Ahhh...yes. The ol' "exaggeration makes me right" approach.

Good luck with that.
