Romo needs a running game and an offensive line to protect him in order for him to be affective. Aikman wasn't near as mobile as Romo but got the job done because he had Emmitt Smith to take the pressure off of him.

actually Emmitt didn't come on until the 2nd half

Is this a serious post!

Dude!

What if the Colts said the same thing about Manning?

Go back to HollyWood...where you can make all the movies in the world turn out good and fine!

I was in North Hollywood for New Years Eve.... The saying around here is, "Hollyweird!" :laugh2:

Aikman was actually more mobile than Romo was his first few yrs in the league...then the back and knee stuff caught up with him and made him more or less at the mercy of his OL.

Go back and look at tapes of Aikman from 89-93 or so. When he'd take off and run, he had alot more speed than Romo has. He was also excellent at throwing on the run.

troy was pretty damn mobile early in his career.

many a time i remember him scurrying for a first down when he ran out of options.

being 6'4" made it all the more impressive.

bottom line: romo is our QB

the bad news is: he is impulsive

the good news is: he is talented, hard working, wants to win

he needs: the right coaching

i am just not sold on our coaching but i will wait and see next season

Aikman was faster but he was never as slippery as Romo is in the pocket. Maybe it is because Romo is not fast that he developed the quick feet and ability to sense the unblocked defender about to take his head off.

Romo has to learn to protect the football. He is someone to be gameplanned. He can make plays. Boy can he make them. He just needs to stop making them for the other team. This is not something that has never been seen. He just has to stop it. I'm starting to wonder if he can. Let's hope so.

Agreed. Romo takes care of that and there won't be any threads like this.

As much as I love watching Favre, I hope he does not turn out with Favre's turnover ways.

Even if no one likes it, I think your answer has to be based on what you saw before Romo got hurt against Arizona. If you thought he was the answer before that moment, then he probably is.

I have a hard time holding the end of the season against Tony. He clearly wasn't feeling well. Everyone on offense seemed completely confused. The defense fell apart at the worst moments. The offensive line couldn't block for him.

But for a guy who can't win anything, he did beat the Giants, and he did lead the team to the points that should have won the game against the Ravens while taking a beating. I just have a hard time believing that he's suddenly a bad QB.
