He's probably comparing Romo's throws to those of Aikman and Irvin. They were just impossible for defenses to stop. But Romo doesn't (until Dez anyway) have a WR that can shield his man the way Irvin did. Now Dez can change that if he and Romo develop the kind of timing that Aikman and Irvin had in the 90s.

They all look pretty similar in caliber of seasons to me. Each of them tops the other two in one stat or the other. And keep in mind Romo is the first quarterback in history to start his career with a 90+ rating his first 4 seasons.

As far as "comeback mojo", Romo routinely leads the league in 4th quarter QB rating.

I really don't see how you could get much better than that, really. He cut down on his mistakes dramatically. He needs to throw more touchdowns, but that's pretty much it. You're asking for all time great numbers, and that doesn't need to happen. He's among the league leaders in passing.

Romo is a championship quarterback, and would have been if his protection hadn't failed in the Minnesota game.

Saying 63% is close to 68% and 70% is like saying 58% completion is close to 63%... 6 and 7 % difference is a really big difference when it come to completion %.... and 7 more TDs....close but no cigar, Brees and Manning Clearly had a better season and it wasn't even close.

While none of us know for sure but according to all the media coverage, I would say he was pretty fast there as well.
