Is The "Tough Schedule" Already A Built In Excuse For Garrett?

there should be NO excuses... Winning teams rise up against the schedule and take ACTIONS to execute. NFC EAST teams all play NFC WEST this season... plus 2 games within the division. No surprises.. so RISE UP!

Fans need to stop their winning. The schedule is NOT THAT TOUGH as you all make it out to be. Aside from playing the NFC west, come on guys.... we got some favorable home games that would of been much rougher on the road.

Pessimistics I tell ya.

Uh, . . . . . . . . . . do the Cowboys not have to TRAVEL to London?

If its not at Jerry World, doesnt that mean its not a home game? Like, you know a road game?

Was it not one of JAX home game slots?

Since when does traveling to play in a stadium other than your own not = a road game?

Help, bro, help me out here.

Lulz. Please tell me you are not serious. This is a neutral site game. Not a road game. How can you not see that? Do the Cowboys play in London? No. Do the Jags? No. So explain to me how this is a road game.

Because it says the Jags are the home team? Wow. So I guess in the Super Bowl, whomever is touted as the home team, means it's a home game?

As a general rule, any game that requires a 10 hour flight each way should, imho, be considered a road game.

So the Jags don't have to fly overseas, either? It's not a road game. It's neutral site.

We have 8 home games. 7 road games. 1 neutral site game.

Is it a home game? Nope

Do they travel? Yep

If they travel, is it an away game? Yep

Travel + Away = Road Game

If I was the coach of the Cwoboys and they had a 90% new roster like this one I would be very nervous.

So now a neutral site game isnt a road game even tho they travel?

chuckspin.gif

Nope. Because the other team is doing the same thing. A road game = going to another team's stadium and they do not travel. They have the luxury of staying in their own homes.

How do you not understand the concept of a neutral site game? It's not that hard of a concept to grasp.

Not sure. But with as many moves we've made to contort this team for Garrett's liking, I would like to see some consistency. I feel like we're in too deep to not give it some time.

8-8 hasnt been consistent enough? You jest

In your reality, maybe its a graspable concept. In the real world traveling to a stadium other than you own is a road game.

Why is that concept so hard for you to grasp?

Geezus. Both teams traveling to another stadium other than their own = neutral site.

The disadvantage of a road game is you travel to said team's home city and play in their stadium. Where they are comfortable.

No one is at some disadvantage here.

Is this a home game for the Jaguars? No.

You can stop now.

I really doubt that "We would have won more, but, you know...that schedule was just so hard!" is gonna fly as an excuse for anyone lol...

Think of it this way: what if every team in the NFL had to travel 3 hours to play at a neutral site for every game of the season....would you say that every team got screwed in that they all have 16 away games and no home games, or would the concept of "home" and "away" games start to become irrelevant since no team would ever get the advantages over their opponent that home and away games offer?

So, for one week, the Cowboys don't have a home or an away game. They have a neutral site game with a neutral crowd. Whether they travel 10 hours or 10 minutes to get there is irrelevant.

Most tend to think the schedule will be tough on the Boys this coming season. Last season the defense injury bug was the excuse. This year the Horrible, Last Place Defense, that lost Ware & Hatcher is already being used by some to lower expectations.

Will this "tough schedule" with 4 of our last 6 games on the road be an automatic excuse for Red _ if we dont make the playoffs again?

Psst - I want to tell you a secret...

we could play the Browns 16 times in a season, and everyone would think the schedule spelled 0-16 for Dallas. Welcome to the new era of Cowboys fandom.

I don't think you got the memo..

Red isn't going anywhere.

He's not at odds with Jerrah and he isn't going to take the fall if the team fails.

It's about the players.

They need to step up and play and stop the excuses.

Historically speaking, Garrett has failed the test against teams with above .500 records and playoff teams. Last year's record against playoff teams was 1-6. Don't have all the previous years' won/loss numbers against this type of competition but it is alarmingly bad.

In 56 regular season games, Jason Garrett has a .194 career winning percentage against teams above 500.

That means that he loses 4 out of every 5 games against teams above 500...............................that is laughably bad.

When the only teams you can beat are the Western Omahas of the NFL, it really is quite telling of your coaching ability (or lack of).

Wow, great stat......didn't know it was THAT bad.. Guess it goes hand in hand with Red getting outcoached by a superior coach as well, not just the team having their heads handed to them.

Great show though, thanks Jerry.
