Is there ANY player that is worthy of the COWBOYS moving up for in the first two rounds?

I keep hearing people say we should move up for this player or that player, and I have a hard time believing that it makes much sense to trade up for a player in the first two rounds.

I could maybe see giving up a 4th round pick or later to move up a few spots. But I would have a hard time giving up any of our picks in the top 3 rounds for a player. I just don’t think it’s worth giving up another player.

I guess moving up is an option if you have moved down already and want to move back up, but I’m hard pressed to see many players worth giving up a 2nd or 3rd to move up for that player.
 
Depends what they do at 10. If they go offense at that pick, I can definitely see them moving up either from 44 or with both of those thirds to get another player they like who they don't think will last. For instance, 75 and 99 can move you up to around 60:

10: Slater
44: Holland
60: Togiai
 
The draft is such a crap shoot I am always hesitant to trade up for a player. I prefer trading down and accumulating more picks, especially in rounds 2 and 3. This year there are a lot of players projected to go in round 2 at several positions of need, including OT/OG, S, CB, LB and DT. Having said that, I suppose it would make sense to go up one or two picks for Pitts or maybe Sewell, but not at the expense of a 2nd round pick. By the points chart, Dallas should be able to go up to 8 for their #10 and #99 picks. But I think Sewell and Pitts will be gone by then. They could go up to 7 for their #10 and #75. But any higher than that is going to cost too much. Going to #6 will cost both 3rd round picks. Any higher than that will almost certainly take their 2nd round pick. But I think the draft will go QB, QB, QB, then either QB or trade. But Pitts and Sewell are going to be gone right after that. And even if one of them lasts one more pick, I don't think any teams ahead of us will accept a fair trade offer for Dallas to move up. Perhaps the Panthers would be willing to trade down a few spots but I still think it will take more than a fair deal.
 
Yes, for a top Free Safety as the list is very short. If they don't believe they will fall to 44, pick 99 gets them on top of rd 2, 75 gets them in that late 1st rd range.
 
I think if we want Moehrig we’ll need to get back into round 1. I actually think that Grant and Holland are going to be available at 44. I could also see them moving up for Davis or Barimorenespecially if they make it to the early part of round 2.
 
A third round pick is a premium pick. You should get a player in the 3rd round that can contribute as a rookie at least as a rotational player. I would be hard pressed to give up a third round pick or higher for anyone in this class.
 
I'm not willing to trade away any of our picks in the first three rounds. If we want to use later-round picks to trade up, I could live with that, but I prefer having as many picks as possible because of the hit-and-miss nature of the draft.

I can see Moehrig falling, maybe not out of the first round completely.. but deep into the first, or early day 2. Cowboys could call back in the end of the first round or early day 2 and make the pick! They need moehrig somehow, some way!

Plenty.

Let’s say we took Surtain and then a DT. There’s a few LB and safeties with 2nd round grades we could push up from the 3rd to get.
 
the second round is loaded with talent Im focused on Anil McNeals so..
Richie Grant would be nice
Liam Eichenberg is a good get in the 2nd
Jamin Davis; Im not Capt. Trade down in the 1st I want our future Richard Sherman
 
After the middle of the third round your going to be looking at backup developmental players that may or may not see the field. At a minimum depending on who was there I would look at moving up from our third round comp pick to try to get another starter quality player.
 
in the 1st...pitts or sewell.

in the 2nd...jamin davis or jalean phillips if they fell.

No need to trade up in the 1st round. There will be some awesome defensive players available they can choose from.
 
We are sitting pretty at no.10. We are guaranteed a choice of a couple of Blue chip players. It cost too much to move up and you aren't guaranteed any better odds of selecting a better Blue chip player.

Wouldn't be against moving up into the late first if the right person fell, but I would rather wait until the 2nd round and see who has fallen. The value will be moving from the third into the second or 4th to third.

I don't think so at 10, but love the idea of moving up in the 2nd or 3rd if a stud falls. With the extra comp picks it wouldn't hurt us much.
 
Id trade my second and 3rd round comp pick to move up and take Moehrig or Collins
