Can you imagine what the Cowboys would have finished with Wade and Boy Wonder taking over the talent and the quarterbacks Parcells took over in 2003? What would our four year record be under those two coaching geniuses? 2-14, 3-13, 5-11 (peak year), 3-13. Garrett teases us every year with quotes about how Drew Henson reminds him so much of Troy Aikman, and that this simply must be his breakout year.

I wished he had stayed a few more years. He only had a decent QB for one year, not even a full year at that, and the team came within a bobbled snap of winning a playoff game. Also, Romo could have used another year with a real head coach, a guy who wouldn't hesitate to point out his mistakes. IMO, being surrounded by a staff full of butt-kissers has hindered Romo's career a good bit.

I think, for whatever reason, people are so bitter about Parcells that they automatically want to dismiss anything he did in Dallas.

This team would still be mired in the 5-11 cellar if it weren't for his guiding hand.

Unfortunately, Jerry let him take a good piece of that framework that he laid down with him to Miami. Seems to work OK there as well.

I can buy the argument that he may have worn out his welcome and wouldn't have been able to get anything more out of the team. He more or less alluded to that himself. But if my choices now were BP or Wade Phillips, I'd take BP in a heartbeat.

I'm so down on Phillips that I'd actually welcome Shanahan.
