Is there anybody who is missing Parcells as Our Head Coach Right now?

"At least we were respected when he was around."

Press talk only.

You're asking for a return to the glory days of Vinnie T. handing off to Richie Anderson. 28 sacks a year. Going into a defensive shell to protect 1 score leads....and Giants in training camp while Randy White and MI are frozen out.

I miss Parcells in some ways. He knows talent and he has a firm control of his players. He also TEACHES them to be winners.

What I don't miss is:

1. Him Quitting on this team and ROMO in particular. He should have stuck it out one more year. He obviously is still a workaholic and just wanted out of Dallas.

2. The play not to lose thing hurt this team too. His conservative style, while reigning in Romo, also hurt the team. I refer more to D than O. We went 13-3 the next year partially because of the avoidance of keep the game close. To be fair, we didn't have the killer turnovers with Parcells.

3. Parcells looked bewildered on sidelines here at times for first time I can remember. Could be the players that just shocked him time after time. BUT, he didn't win a playoff game here either, and penalties plagued team.

4. NY Giants, not Cowboys being brought in. Reliance on too many of his Jersey type of guys. Parcells didn't bend much either. Perhaps a bit more bending would have put this team over top in his years.

What I really miss!

Strong leadership. Strong control. No stupid lockerroom snitches or lookerroom cancers (even if calling someone the "Player" doesn't really help, it sure kept him in his place).

Special Teams a focus and understood as 1/3 of game and extremely important.

No turnovers and accountability and teaching and demanding of players, even publically.

I do. I think we had years and years of garbage to clean up and he couldn't complete it in the time he was here. I think a few more years and we would have had a legit shot.

It is what it is now though.

the GM.If Jerry would have done that all those coaches would
be here instead.

Am i the only one who remembers 2004?

Yeah, and I remember 1997-2002 as well.

Unless he can "fix" the culture, he could not fix the problem. He is not a miracle worker. We all know Jerry Jones would never relinquish the kind of control he would need to do the job right.

I think he had the culture starting to change. It was a bigger struggle than even he thought but since he left the Culture has nose dived.

No one in this group will turn it around either.

No I don't miss him. We would still be out of the playoffs if he was here. He was late on starting Romo in 06, didn't win a playoff game or a division title. No I don't miss him at all.
Amen. I don't miss at all. All of his discipline got us nothing in the end. How fast people forget how the players had started to tune him out in 06. Parcells talked a good game before coming here, but couldn't deliever in the end, bottom line.

Its actually is true. Jerry has his hands on everyone and everything in the organization. He puts the players higher in command than the coaches. When players have a problem who do they go to to complain? Jerry.

In other teams around the league you don't see this **** because GMs have their coaches back before the players.

Not only no, hell no. I am glad he is gone. Just wasn't good enough for my epicurean tastes.

Tom Landry...250-162-6 regular season, 20-16 post season, overall record 270-178-6, .776 winning %.

Jimmy Johnson...44-36 regular season, 7-1 post season, overall record 51-37, .580 winning %.

Barry Switzer...40-24 regular season, 5-2 post season, overall record 45-26, .634 winning %.

Chan Gailey...18-14 regular season, 0-2 post season, overall record 18-16, .529 winning %.

Dave Campo...15-33 overall record, .313 winning %.

Bill Parcells....34-30 regular season, 0-2 post season, overall record 34-32, .515 winning %.

Wade Phillips...22-10 regular season, 0-1 post season. overall record 22-11, .667 winning %.

So the only guy he did better than is Dave "Timeclock" Campo. Why the hell would I miss that guy? Right, I wouldn't.

They have been losers the past 5 years. We are perennial paper champs that can't even win a playoff game or even qualify for the playoffs. And how we went out in style this year proves that. We had more headlines then the Raiders or Lions about our misfortunes. So tell me again who is the joke of the NFL? ;)

Ladies and gentlemen - your 2009 Dallas Cowboys - slightly less of a joke that the Lions or Raiders!

That's a rather simplistic and pedestrian way of looking at it. I wish I could say I'm surprised.
