At least that's the takeaway from second-year corner Orlando Scandrick. He's a young guy who is a huge up-and-comer within the organization. But even Scandrick realizes that if the franchise will part ways with a megastar like T.O., he better make sure he does everything that's asked of him.
"It was as a shock to me," Scandrick said. "But obviously we know that our owner is serious about getting things together and it sends a message to a team that there's no tolerance. You're either going to get on board or you're not going to be here.
"That's how I look at it. No one's untouchable."
To me that sounds like a great message, if the younger players read it as such. Still, Scandrick sounded as if T.O. will be missed. At least by him, anyway.
"He was a popular among me," Scandrick said. "That's a guy I grew up watching. I looked up to him, because he's a great player. He had a great NFL career. It's not over, but his legacy is great. I feel he was vital to our team, but I don't think one person makes the team."
