I can't think of a more embarrassing loss in the 45 years of following the Cowboys.
There have been game we should've won but came up short like the Giants 07 playoffs and Packers 16 playoffs.
We've been blown out before but those were teams that no one really expected much out of.
The game that mostly resembles this loss is ironically the 95 regular season loss to the 49ers.
We went into that game pretty cocky because Steve Young was hurt and Elvis Gerbac was starting and we got our butts whipped.
But at least that team had a history of success, they just had a bad day.
This 49ers loss was a total beat down on Primetime TV and after weeks of the team boasting how they had turn the corner and were ready to prove to the world that they were for real and wanted that Smoke.
Well, they didn't just have a Bad Day. They got overwhelmingly dominated in a fashion that proved they were no where close to being on the porch with the Big Dogs.
They are relegated to sleep under the porch with all the rest of the Beta Males while the Alphas sleep on the cushy patio furniture on the porch.

Only game I can recall as bad as this one was the 2010 Packers beat down that (I think) got Wade fired. There have been plenty of stinkers since then, but after talking all week about the Niners and how good they are and how you wanted to play them, and that's what you showed up with?

Unforgivable. You didn't narrow the gap at all. They're even more better than you than they were in January.

San Fran is among the best teams in the NFL. At this point, I'd have a hard time putting any team besides Kansas City in front of the 9ers. Stacked with talent and a great staff.

Even KC with their suspect offense and not so great defense is no match for SF.
Only eagles have the physicality to match but even that will be difficult.

But NFL games are any given day , some hot and cold streaks , bad breaks will change the flow. My personal (homer) opinion , the chasm between boys and Niners was not as bad as the final score of the game, as SF got most of the breaks , but physically they are much more dominant.

Yes because the team literally talked trash all week long "revenge game" , "gonna show em sumthin", " I'm pissed since lastbyear ended", just on and on ......

Then got their arses slapped around so bad their backups where whoopin them.

naw it bothered me none. It exposed the whole team as fake. I just wonder why it took some guys 8 years to see dak sucks.shrugs
I think Dak was a good QB until his foot injury, and then seems to have seriously regressed since then. His deep ball percentages used to be a lot better as well as his decision making. I wonder if that injury just screwed with his head. He looks done now.

The "win and in" game vs Philly with Romo and Marion Barber days was bad.

nah, that calf injury he got after that patriots win did him in apparently, he was on fire those games in '21.

In the McCarthy era. But this team has had some "embarrassing" losses in the 21st century

  • Pick a few early Romo Playoff games. Losing to Seattle from that fumbled snap when game was won. Getting dominated by the Giants when it was our homefield advantage and year.
  • The Texans home opener loss was pretty bad, agree with others.
  • Randy Moss making us his ‘female dog.’
  • 90’s dynasty was spanked pretty bad by the Lions before going all the way. Lots of demoralizing losses for them too as the dynasty fell apart. Rough losses as the team fell apart and Andy Reid/Jim Johnson had their way with us when they coached the Eagles. ALL of Chan Gailey’s playoff games were pretty rough. Falling flat against the freaking Cards (who remember, weren‘t much to speak of yet in those days).
  • Under Dak, been deflating since the Rams spanking. Seems like we always run into a team that ‘out-physicals’ us in the big games in all aspects.

Bears did a bigger beat down during their Super Bowl year under Ditka. score was 44-0. In 1985

Giants loss in playoffs when we were #1 seed, top offense, top 10 defense. got upset at home. or the 2008 game, win and you are in, then we got shallacked 44-6

but yeah, this is still one of the worst.
