Is this the most embarrassing loss?

Fun read, even if painful. Had forgotten about a lot of these games. Puts it in perspective. It ain’t easy being a longtime fan.

I can't think of a more embarrassing loss in the 45 years of following the Cowboys.
There have been game we should've won but came up short like the Giants 07 playoffs and Packers 16 playoffs.
We've been blown out before but those were teams that no one really expected much out of.
The game that mostly resembles this loss is ironically the 95 regular season loss to the 49ers.
We went into that game pretty cocky because Steve Young was hurt and Elvis Gerbac was starting and we got our butts whipped.
But at least that team had a history of success, they just had a bad day.
This 49ers loss was a total beat down on Primetime TV and after weeks of the team boasting how they had turn the corner and were ready to prove to the world that they were for real and wanted that Smoke.
Well, they didn't just have a Bad Day. They got overwhelmingly dominated in a fashion that proved they were no where close to being on the porch with the Big Dogs.
They are relegated to sleep under the porch with all the rest of the Beta Males while the Alphas sleep on the cushy patio furniture on the porch.
An embarrassing loss was two weeks ago, losing to an inferior opponent.

The loss Sunday night in SF was a humiliating loss. They lined up against a formidable opponent, everything on the table, no holds barred, winner take all and got punched in the mouth, lunch money stolen, drawers pulled over the head wedgie and girlfriend taken.

I don't believe they recover.

The reaction from the players and the owners may be the most embarrassing. They are so much in denial they don't even realize how stupid they sound.

Bears ended up winning SB in 1985 too, that didnt make 44-0 any less embarrassing.
Ok you just contradcted yourself.

You said Giants loss wasn't as embarrassing because giants won the Super Bowl.

Now you are saying eventhough bears won Super Bowl it's still embarrassing

Which is it?

It was disappointing but that's a freaking great team in their home stadium.

Don't be a drama queen

Must be talking about somebody else, I didnt mention anything about the Giants????

Our most embarrassing loss may be yet to come if we lay an egg against the Panthers later in the season. We’ll end up allowing Bryce Young to have a career day and look every bit like the number one overall pick. Lol

'The Catch' game against San Francisco but not because it was embarrassing. It was a great game but it seemed like after that loss the Cowboys declined steadily although I think they made the NFC championship game against Washington. They were competitive but not really in serious SB contention and then the late 80's drama with Tom Landry and a 1-15 first year under Jimmy Johnson. Thank God Johnson turned it around. Still miss him to this day.

I don't know the blowout playoff loss to the egirls wad pretty painful.
The one under Wade Phillips.

Oh gosh we have had many many embarrassing losses just in last 2 seasons!

I mean....even the Cardinals loss a couple weeks ago was more inexcusable.

But yeah this was highly embarrassing just because of the hype, and it being on Sunday Night Football.... and the way SF rubbed our noses in it publicly....and then with Micah getting on podcast afterwards and FURTHER humiliating himself and the team with his clueless blathering....only to be put in his place by Deebo.....

I don't know. We've lost to some bad teams the last 2 years that proved our soft underbelly....and SF is a great team that no team should feel shame losing to....but all of our talk and loudmouth blabbermouthing, and their very public way of giving us an over-the-knee spanking like a spoiled little child, made this right up there as far as our many humiliations.

IDK....there was that game in 2000 I think.... it was Game 1 season opener at home...hosting Philly and Andy Reid...and we were heavy favorites.... and they come in and do an onside kick on the first play...recover it...and drive it right down the field for a TD. They then proceeded to run it down our throats all day long while chugging pickle juice and beating Aikman to a pulp, helping end his career.

That was another very public embarrassing day....and signaled a changing of the guard, as the new Millennium commenced, and our glory days were left behind in the rear view window as the 1900's faded into history, with only dusty VHS tapes left as proof that we were ever a legit championship caliber organization.

We're still stuck in the last century....like the 40 year old loser working as a Walmart checkout guy who still talks about his exploits in high school, where his life peaked....and then quickly began declining

Why are we even talking about this? It's just depressing.

DAL once got their arse kicked by 85 Bears 45- to almost nothing. That was horrific.

1985 game against the Chicago bears. I needed therapy after that debacle.

Due to the circumstances, got eliminated the last two postseasons by the 49ers and all the talk of this being a measuring stick game......................yeah, to come out and get totally destroyed is right up there with one of the worst losses in franchise history.

Heh.. I think it is worse for the fans of the new millennium.. at least we have seen some SB's

I don’t think this is the most embarrassing loss; Dallas lost to a superior team and most likely the NFC champions. It was the manner in which they lost; if a team is going to lose, make the other team earn it…don’t hand it to them, which is what I think Dallas did. I saw no fire, no urgency; when the 4th quarter came about Dallas quit. The SF running backs were running thru the Dallas defense. Just a bad game overall…Dalllas was out-coached and outplayed.
