He’ll get practice at tackle for depth

He also said Booker will get practice at center

A really good swing tackle to me is a prudent investment

That's one problem but Schotty suggested he still having issues with footwork and hand placement. That's wild as a former 1st round pick going into his 3rd year. It also shows the level of on concerns they have about his ability to start IMO.

I suspected all along that they would try to sign him to guard money then move him to LT, but he is aware.

Ideally you leave him there but if Guyton hasn’t shown improvement I don’t agree with having two Pro Bowl type guards with two turnstile tackles.

There’s a real chance that the “best five” includes Bass over Guyton. Hope not, and hard, but you never want LT to be a question. Not good.

And what if Smith is a turnstyle at OLT? Not to mention a penalty machine.

They better have serious concerns about Guyton. You don't preach competition and then just hand a starting job to a guy who has been horrible for 2 years straight. Big year for him. Hopefully he takes a big step forward. I think he will be better. Enough better is the question

It might be yeah, but what if Guyton doesn’t get it together?

I don’t know if I’d start Shelton even if he is the most impressive rook in camp.

I’d sign Decker either way, but no clue whether he is on their radar. Guessing no.

It’s a tough position to just leave to chance since a screwup doesn’t simply allow a touchdown, it gets your QB injured.

Trost was available when they took Barham but his draft profile says he will probably be an interior player in the NFL so I'm not sure how that's a sure fire solution to our LT position if Guyton doesn't step up.
