If Wade cant get this team to the POs he's dead meat and i can't imagine Jerry not bringing in Shanny or the Walrus considering both are available and Jerry likes both guys.

He also like Garrett and ideally wants a long term coach

Please. I know you don't like Wade but really, the guy knows football.

he has a great mind, but he's just not head coach material

whatever it is, he just can't get teams to be able to get over that hump

I hope he's our D-Cord for the next 5 years or so. Never thought he was HC material. Damn good defensive coach though.

Wade defers so much blame that I don't think the players ever feel accountable.

But then again, this is a very sensative bunch - they don't like being criticized very much.

yeah i see that point. to me it seems that this group wants to be treated like "men", but when they get the freedom to be "men" they can't handle it.

I think he has had some good 'groceries' as BP would like to say.

This is the year to see his guys in full force, a heavily upgraded secondary. Much more athleticism and insurance at safety and CB. Those sack numbers don't mean anything if you don't force any turnovers.

How long did it take each of them to get a trophy? I'd be willing to bet if you gave WP the tenure the chin had in Pitt he would be just as if not more successful.

That's my point. If we hit the reset button every two years then we'll never get our 6th trophy. When you change coaches you more than likely have changed your philosophy and therefore must retool your personnel which pretty much insures a step backward. I'm tired of stepping backward.

I say give wade 4-5 years and then make a decision.
I agree, one thing I haven't seen addressed in the 100 gazillion fire Wade threads floating around out there, Who can run our defense if Wade is not here?

Sure he does, he loves Jason, but can Jerry resist the big time coach? If this team doesn't make the POs two years in a row when a LOT of people had them going a long way considering their talent i think it would be time for drastic measures.

NFC Championship appearance or bust.

That's exactly the reality. Jerry, believing he had a championship caliber team ready for Wade in year 1, agreed with Wade on winning it all by latest year 3 and that's why Wade got a 3 year contract.

Hiring someone without any HC experience is something that Jerry likely views as a drastic measure as well.

As I said earlier. If we fail and the O does well, this job is Garrett's

Forget about not getting to the playoffs, If the Cowboys don`t win at least one game in the playoffs Wade WONT be the coach next year.

Say we go:

10-6

3-1 in December

and have a top 10 defense.

while missing the playoffs by the slimmest of margins.

Do you can Wade after the season?

So, you are saying that the Cowboys would be 7-5 at the end of November?

I can only imagine what a circus this board would be if the Cowboys do struggle like that during Sept-Nov.

IT would be a blood-bath.....:laugh1:

Wade is gone if this team ends up with anything less than a Lombardi trophy...........

If we don't make the playoffs, no matter what our record or how well we played, he's gone.

Wade is gone regardless of what we do, Garrett is the next HC, that is why Wade has not been offered an extension, or a new contract. This is the last year in his 3yr deal, and he is gone period, even if we win the SB he is gone, now Jerry may give him an extra year after winning the SB, but JG will be the next HC, not Cowher, not Holmgren, and not shanahan.

I seriously hope Jerry keep with the youth movement, and do not hire another old recycled coach.
