I thought he should have been fired for last season anything short of the NFC championship game should be more then enough to send him packing.

Wade is NOT a good HC if last year didn't hammer that point home for some people then just take a look at his other HC stints they've all been as good awful as last season

I dont care what the offensive or defensive ratings are, if we dont make the playoffs then Wade is gone, period.

A head coach that is handed this much talent and "effs it up" without a single playoff victory has to go, period.

Wade himself said that it takes 3-4 years to build a championship caliber team. So using Wade's own timeline, we should be very close to winning it all this year. Close means NFC Championship appearance at a minimuim, no more of this crap that bye weeks count as playoff wins......THEY DONT WADE!!!!!

Shanahan? He's done what exactly since Elway retired BESIDES ruin Denver's defense and get fired?

The Chin? Seriously? The guy who couldn't win the big one without the benefit of the worst officiated Super Bowl in NFL history with all the calls going his way?

Holmgren just retired. Don't expect him back for 2-3 years at the earliest.

No. The only way I'd get rid of WP is if we dont make the .500 mark. I'm sick of running through coaches like the rest of the league. I am aware of those who don't care for Wade but I'd like to establish some continuity.

I'm with you

I really dont think that there is any scenario where Wade returns.

Lets face it. If we win the SB it will be in spite of him as HC. Not because of him(but perhaps because of his defense).

IF we won the SB Jerry would be more than happy to tell Wade. "Thats the way to go out... attaboy", "Now get out".

The only reason why Wade is still here is because Jerry doesnt want to admit that hiring Switzer-puppet #2 failed.

If we win the SB, then he'll be back--anything short of that and he's gone. Even if we make it to the big dance, and lose in the final 10-seconds of the game, he's still gone.

In such a scenario, Garrett takes over.

If this season blows altogether, someone from outside of the organization will be the HC.

Depends - Holmgren, Shanahan, and The Chin are sitting out there.

Each one has brought home a trophy.

Has Wade won a play-off game as yet?

So much depends on what happens in this scenario.

Did RW11 establish himself?

Did Romo eliminate most of his mistakes?

Did the young corners mature?

What did we see from bennett and Crash, Dash and Tash?

If it was merely retool the offensive line, then yes, I'm for Wade.

If it runs deeper - say Romo is still struggling with turnovers and decision making at times, then i want a stronger coach.

Kind of dancing on the answer, but the results do dictate what I'd prefer.

In the cases of Holmgren, Shanahan, and The Chin - I really don't want to have to see them blow the team up, build from scratch, and then wait until the NFL's talent level is mediocre like it was during their winning years before they win a championship in like 10 years.

Wade's contract is up after this season. I think unless he wins the Super Bowl he is gone.

His house will be on the market by Feb 1.

If I were an NFL Coach I would not buy a house in the city where I worked anymore.

Some players ain't going anywhere regardless of who comes inn like Ware, Witten, Ratliff, MB3, Felix and Romo. If Wade fails again i'd rather blow up the roster then sit trough yet another season with him

I just dont see it.

Huh? You'd rather blow up the roster than sit through another season with him? What does that mean? You'd rather cut a bunch of players than fire Phillips?!?

How long are the Cowboys expected to toss money and talent to a coach who is incapable of motiving (scaring) and driving his team to the next level.
It's true what they say, you can't teach an old fool new tricks.
We desperately need, and in this order: the Chin, Shanny, Gruden or even that overrated Holesome or Holmgren guy. Yeah he won a Super Bowl. OK, memories.

Gotta be the chin.
Has to be . . . .

...is a Head Coach in name only.

There are some who are suited to that mission. It's painfully obvious that Wade isn't.

Where he falls short is when his team is down. In his tenure I haven't been able to see him stem the tide when things don't go his way in the middle of a game.

He's not that type of coach.

No, I'd rather get rid of Phillips even if it means cutting a bunch of players and starting over from scratch, what's the point of having a good team if your HC can't win?

Wow. Just, wow. I can't imagine what you would be in favor of if Wade was 17-15 here instead of 22-10. Selling the team perhaps to the CFL?

As a HC goes Wade is a proven failure everywhere he's been, not just here. If he can't win here this year what makes you think he's gonna do it the next year or the year after?

Wade has never won a playoff game ever as HC anywhere, we can keep blaming "the player" for last season and pretend we're in good shape, but Wade has quite a few more seasons just like last year other places as well. He's not going to all of a sudden become a good HC if we keep him around long enough

If you look at it long term what would you rather want, 5 years of Wade's 8-8ish teams or would you rather take a step back in order to get someone in here that actually knows what they're doing?

Can you imagine if we'd followed up 13-3 with 6-10 like the Packers last year? And everyone was talking up McCarthy as a coach of the year candidate and the next big thing in coaching.

I've said it many times, but if someone lived overseas years ago and could only see the box scores of the games, or if Wade looked and acted like Jon Gruden with the exact same record, people wouldn't have nearly the same problems with him.

I've really been surprised as how much importance people put on appearances. I mean, when people are saying that Michael Irvin is a better coach than anyone we have based on a reality show.... ~shakes head~

After the injury situation we had, that really wouldn't have been fair to Wade.
