1.the marketplace or public square of an ancient Roman city, the center of judicial and business affairs and a place of assembly for the people.
2.a court or tribunal: the forum of public opinion.
3.an assembly, meeting place, television program, etc., for the discussion of questions of public interest.
4.the Forum, the forum in the ancient city of Rome.

So, what's wrong with "negative" posters or "homers"?
What's up with all the criticism about other members?

Isn't that the point?

What? we're not in Rome.

At least i don't think we are, Reality you're not hiding from us in Rome are you?

Is that what this place is called..... thanks for pointing that out!

Not that I disagree with you, but we're not having live gladiator matches in the L.A. Coliseum (I hope).

Part of the point of public discussion is to have rational discussion regarding relevant issues.

A public forum isn't for people running around screaming "MY POOP WAS GREEN THIS MORNING SO WE SHOULD KILL CAESAR AND PREPARE FOR THE END OF TIMES."

When people make hysterical and nonsensical posts that are the equivalent of the green poop message, they are abusing the forum, not participating in it.

Question? Given the fact it is a "forum" shouldn't people who get tired of the "homers" and "negative posters" have a chance to say so?

That is the point. As long as the disagreements are somewhat civil they are fine. If someone doesn't like all the optimism, they can say so. If someone doesn't like all the negativism, they can say so.

The optimists always think there's too much negativity.

The pessimists always think their opinions aren't welcome.

All that tells me is this place is run right if both sides feel persecuted, and they do.

and we thankfully have an ignore option which is unheard of in live forums. You gotta grit your teeth through all it or invest in those bose earphones so you can tune it all out...

I agree with you to a certain extent. But because this is a Cowboys "forum", shouldn't the discussions and conversations be focused around the Dallas Cowboys instead of criticizing other posters? Isn't that where we should be utilizing our energy?

I don't think negative posts are remotely similar to running around screaming that your poop is green. These negative posts, per se, are still about the Cowboys.. they are fundamentally still on the subject matter of the Dallas Cowboys.

It should be, but it isn't a perfect world.

If they have the right to be negative and cry and moan ........ don't we have the right to call them out on it?

Isn't that the point?
