Isn't Tony Pollard an unrestricted FA after this season?

Pollard in free agency will like make somewhere in the range of half of Zeke's annual salary ($15M per). Spotrac says next year is the "out" to release Zeke and I'd do it. Take another 3rd-4th round running back and resign Pollard and you're saving money and improving the position or at least getting Zeke's same middling production.

Cut zeke and let dalton walk.

Tag pollard or offer a team friendly deal. Draft a 3 or 4 rb, rinse and repeat. Daks awful contract is such a nut kick.

Very strong possibility both Zeke and Pollard aren’t here next year and we have a whole new backfield. Luckily it’s the easiest position to fill in the NFL.

But not always successfully filled.... it's a reason why these Kamara, Henry, Cook, Chubb, ..and eventually Taylor ...get re-signed

Maybe it's just me, but the offense plays faster when he's in the game. He's a keeper.......no problem offering him a 3-year deal $8-9M with two years guaranteed. Drafting one and releasing Zeke....

RBs that haven't proven to be the bell cow in the running and passing game aren't setting market highs on their contracts. I would say he gets 7 to 8 million a year. The Cowboys will probably want to keep him, maybe they ask Zeke for a paycut and if he declines Zeke is out and replaced with a rookie.

Dak has already been restructured which is why the next two seasons he is eating up 20%. There isn't a ton more they can do with that.

And in a couple seasons Dak will be asking for an extension. Yay.
They can restructure it again keep on pushing it down the road

Isn't Tony Pollard an unrestricted fa after this season ? If so, what do you think his market is ? Do this jones boys let him test fa to see his market ? I don't see Jerry/stephen breaking the bank for a rb again. Would you hut him with the franchise tag ?

if cowboys let him walk it will be their usual M.O......boot Zeke keep Pollard with good 3 year contract....so he get some money he deserves it...he has lost zero speed and has only gotten better

- i can see us tagging Pollard ...

- Tagging Pollard forces us to make him among the highest paid RBs in NFL .. while tying up a significant cap space for 2023 year.
But If we can tag TE Dalton Schultz as we're doing this 2023, ....why not the much more explosive, game changing Pollard ?

- Keep in mind that Pollard works best within in that 15 touches (not carries) area.. at best.
- Even if we re-sign or tag him, Be careful Not to over-load and over toll him. he's not a big carry RB and workhorse.

My Options:
- Tag him for 2023
- Re-sign him long term while making him among the top paid RBs
- If Pollard departs per FA, and we keep Zeke, we're drafting a RB early (2nd or 3rd rd)
- I'm one that supports Not drafting a RB in first round, better chance drafting a Chubb, Taylor, Henry, Kamara in 2nd/3rd rd .or Pollard type.

King --exactly...keep Pollard at all costs....and get fresh leg rookie who is good at blocking and running

....you will eventually have to pay up on that. You are going to be hit hard eventually. As I said, there is a reason he's hitting the cap 20% the next two seasons. So you will either be taking a hit in 2023 or 2024. His void year is 2025 - this is about when Dak is going to be wanting an extension. At some point, we're going to be paying out the nose.

Tony Pollard will play on the Franchise Tag 2023 and in 2024, Zeke and Pollard will be gone
